XCOM Delayed Till Fiscal 2013

The title pretty much says it all. Here's the article over at RPS.

I was mildly interested in this. I've been wrong before when an old beloved franchise switches from 2D to FPS (Fallout) so I was curious if 2K could pull it off. Seems I won't find out till much later.

They have some interesting ideas. From the demo it looked like they were pretty far along, too.

Seems this game will suffer as so many others have—if they named the game "Kill the Foozles" it would be received well, but it simply isn't designed to meet the expectations that come with having XCOM in the title.

The marketing sages just haven't quite figured out the double-edged sword that comes with taking a popular IP in new directions.
