November 12th, 2011, 22:06
According to this post in The Witcher 2 forum, a 2.0 version of Witcher 2 can now be bought at stores in Europe. Speculations in the thread goes something like this, as GodefroydeBouillon

Is this Namco Bandai's way of re-DRMing up to 2.0 the retail copies of the European market? That's the only reason behind this relunch I can think of and it's only been 6 months so they can't even re-release it as a GOTY or "Epic Edition" or "Ultimate Edition" yet.More information.

Maybe they just decided that they might as well be producing the latest version? They made changes to how the game self-updates so it would make sense to put a new version out there. As long as everything else in the box is the same, I doubt it will be a big deal for the publisher.
