Default Wasteland 2 - Kickstarter Approved

March 13th, 2012, 11:42
Brian Fargo tweeted a few hours back the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter has been approved and will be released tomorrow. Due to timezone differences, I'll probably miss the exact launch, but you know its coming:
#Wasteland 2 update! We have been approved by #kickstarter and we go live tomorrow. I will post the link the minute I get it.
More information.

I thought it's already approved with all of the news about the people who were hired to work on it.
Anyway, I think the results of this kickstarter are very important and can determinate if kickstarting can become a new normal way of making budget for games or not.

They're getting pledges at a very fast pace so far. You can hit your refresh button and see how quickly it's increasing.

Any of these high-profile gaming donation projects fail to get funded yet?

If you have 100$ and you donate 50$ - is that less deserving of respect than donating 1000$ if you have 1000000$?

Nope, that would be just as crazy, only I will never know
Nevertheless, I am curious if there will be any backers at the $10000 level…

I'm in.

blackcanopus:
Steam is out of question. It's not convenient, it's not easy to use, it's not simple and fast. It's terrible.

Are you sure? Did you read the detail about the beta access being through steam
During that time, players can get a sneak peek on a private closed beta through Steam.

That's a shame, yes. But I altered my pledge because of this. I don't need BETA, just a boxed copy and shipping to EU.

Already at $82,000+ and this early in the day - not bad!

Apparently there is hope for old-school RPGs.

I've always wanted to be a Wasteland location but at a $1000 it's just a bit too much. I'm going with the boxed Collectors Edition.

Decisions decisions. 50 or 100…. Normal box or CE box. Yes or no to beta. Yes or no to having an additional digital copy.

This is a toughie. I'll probably land on 50, but the beta itself is really making me look at 100. 75 just doesn't work on its own.

I would have been more inclined to do the $100 if Guild War 2's pre-purchase details had not just gone live Plus, there will be Legend of Grimrock… Shaping up to be a decent gaming year.

I'm in for 100$. Since I prefer a boxed version, I might as well go for the collector's edition.
