Insect Books?
August 3rd, 2012, 14:24
Anyone know of any books about insects and the struggle against them with sci-fi (even fantasy) elements?
I have this one and have read it 3 or 4 times through the years. Really great book.

Theres Starship Troopers which I have read once long ago.
What else is out there and is worth reading?

Only Day Of The Triffids, and it isn't about Insects but about Plants.

You might look into Ender´s Game, but the "insect theme" is not really in the forefront, iirc.
I also don´t guarantee it´s a quality reading - I remember enjoying it, but it´s been a looong time since I´ve read it

Kevin Anderson Saga of the Seven Suns features a race of Robotic Insects created by an extinct race of Alien Insects. Good series - light reading but big.
Also there is Ambush Bug. I'm currently reading the whole series.

Yup, Enders Game was good.
The Kevin Anderson one sounds interesting. I'll check it out.
Thanks

Vernor Vinge wrote a fantastic book about spider humanoid aliens: A Deepness in the Sky. Highly recommended.
