Default New Chris Avellone interview

There's a new interview over at NewMediaRights(??); a lot of rehashed questions, but I really recommend the part on Black Isle's demise and the formation of Obsidian. Very poignant details, especially regarding Feargus as a respected leader.

Interesting stuff. Not really new, but quite entertaining.

Back then, while BiS still existed, I remeber a certain post made by Feargus on the official BiS vBulletin boards - not on later crappy Interplay forums on free engine. Basically he gave a few details on his "war" with Intreplay chiefs which include a veto on his vote when he protested to pit BiS label on Descent games. The post wasn't aimed to say Interplay sucks, but was aimed to try to make us, fans, understand why they can't deliver BG3 and FO3. Oddly, cancelling Torn he never blamed on Interplay - all I can remember is saying that nothing about Torn seemed right (good) since the project started, so instead of trying to make a halfdone crappy product and selling it as today's companies do, BiS decided to drop it completely.
What Avellone says, the shit umbrella, probably sums it all.

In a way Chris says nothing new here, true, but it's still good to remember how a bunch of noname lousy managers that hold power can destroy something worth keeping alive over night. While the society uses democracy to disallow such things if possible, in companies there is not even d from democracy.
