- Seen first few eps and it's just right amount of humor, action and sci-fi mixed together
- Main characters (two cops, chief, another detective in precint, current standard robot model, robot techie) are far from looking cute, plastic models can be casted only as episodic roles which is not just one plus but a stockpile of pluses

Yea… J.J. Abrams is involved in it, but honestly, who cares if it's fun?
Highly recommended.

Remember black oil from x-files?

Now imagine it revamped and used as a starter of a thriller/survival horror show. Won't talk more, just a few trailers:

First three eps are out, don't expect a spectacular show since it's SyFy, but also it's not their usual crap but a really promising show. You can watch it here (not available in all countries though so check on your IPTV channellist or elsewhere):

I watched it on the Syfy channel on Friday. It follows the trope of scientists play god, and something goes wrong. It's not bad and each episode is based on one day.

I will watch a few more episodes to decide if it is worth watching anymore. I'm more excited for the new seasons of the Following, and Archer.

Archer is broadcasted on FOX Crime here. And it's already cult classic.

Never heard about Following, what's it about?

It's a new Fox series's that came out last year. It stars Kevin Bacon as a worn out detective casing a cult leader played by James Purefoy from the HBO series Rome.

He has a very large cult following based on Edgar Allan Poe books. The two of them are essentially opposite sides of the same coin, and become obsessed with each other.

Here is the fox webpage. The series returns on Jan. 19, 2014.

Browsing around in Netflix I gave a try to a series called "Leverage"… LOVED IT!!!

After that, tried 4400, but feels to me I've seen this before (Heroes). Watched 2 seasons but grew too stale for me to finish it.

Im totally out of ideas. Ive seen all scifi series there are and I have nothing left.

Lately watched two episodes of helix the new syfy zombie-series. Its okay if I close my eyes from all the stupidity that goes in it. I think the writer thought that since zombies are not real its okay to forget realism.

Spoiler – What do you get if you mix..

I tried watching that Following show, and I actually like Bacon, but it was just too flaky for me. The wife loves it, however.

Watched 6-7 episodes of Boardwalk Empire - and it's not for me.

It's very well produced and it looks great, but it's too one-sided for me. I've never liked Steve Buscemi - and I don't think he has any charisma whatsoever - and he seems to be cast deliberately because he's not what you'd expect.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me.

But the acting is good - and characters like Rothstein and Capone are particularly well done, but they're also only skin-deep. Most characters simply serve a stereotypical purpose and don't seem to have much of an inner life going on. The FBI fanatic is way over-the-top - bordering on farcical.

What really ruins it for me is how it's obsessed with the seedy side of life - and all characters are essentially doing everything they can to play each other. Too depressing and too much suffering - with little to balance it out.

Oh well, but it was pretty close to being a show I could get into.

Leverage is great entertainment, up to the very end.

There's an English series with similar motifs called Hustle. I think it's even a bit better than Leverage … but these English shows are often a bit weird and edgy, so YMMV. I would recommend to watch at least one full season (6 episodes).

One thing… Zombies don't talk and don't have IQ over 70. No matter if the show is about curse or botulin, zombies don't talk. I did hear about a movie where a zombie can talk, but no way I'm gonna watch another twilight wannabe spiritual successor.

Helix is not about zombies. Rewatch it please. As I've said, it's not anything extraordinary, but definetly isn't yet another zombie crap.

Hustle? Yea it tends to be weird. That's why I love it!

I'm in the process of watching all the Spartacus blu-rays I got for Christmas. Love every single minute . I do, however, have to ask myself why on Earth I absolutely wanted the totally uncut Italian import version … ? I tend to look away, anyway, whenever the really grisly things are shown (like, um, the Licinia incident in season 1 part 9).

You want the uncut version because it's you who should determine what's appropriate not some group of anonymous ppl who never saw a dead body in RL. Oh and they never had sex so you shouldn't see it - before they do. And if asked they're against sexual education. I bet if they watched Salo* they'd get a brain stroke.

Anyway, IIRC uncut version of Starz Spartacus has just a few scenes you probably won't even notice. They got lucky. The distributor wasn't The Weinstein Company.
I still didn't watch the final season, I'm waiting till it gets aired here, but first 3 seasons (prequel included) were awsome.

* An advice for all of you, do not watch that movie ever. It's made just so pll can know it can be made and the point of the movie is shocking the audience and nothing else. Just like recent Valhalla Rising praised by critics but from me only comment I can think of is:

Thanks for reminding me - yes, that's why I wanted it .
Well, I watched the series on TV when it aired here (save season 3, so same here), and they didn't censor any of the sex scenes. But I instantly noticed the very violent stuff that was cut from local syndication even if the episode was rated PG 18.
