Hmmm, the base options actually look pretty elaborate and fun. Still not so sure about combat though. I might chip in after all if they are in need of a final hours boost.

I broke down and backed this one. I'm such a sucker for Kickstarters. 
Agreed. Base building looks interesting. Combat not so much….but maybe not so terrible, either. I guess I'll see now. Looks like they'll probably make their goal.

Yeah, looks like they'll make it: $91k with 2 days to go,
$75 for a boxed version is kinda pricey though.

Their latest update shows a tremendous amount of ambition.
They aim at an economically viable game universe, which is the most difficult thing to go for. A must read and a must keep at hands'reach to remember when the game is released.
They should skip on combat tactics. Only try to provide a good, solid reliable combat with a good outcome prediction value for both the PC and the NPCs.
The developpment of traits acquired through interactions with the gaming world is already enough to keep them busy until 2013, October.
With what they've just added about their goals, it is going to be an extreme work load.
