Default Power Drive 2000 - 80s Racing Game (ends June 3rd)

June 1st, 2015, 17:23
Hey there,

this isn't an RPG but I guess this forum is for kickstarter projects in general.
Just came to my attention via PCGamer that the kickstarter project of Power Drive 2000 is going to an end.

At the time of my posting it's still 52h to go, but more than 6k of the 27k goal are still missing.

Power Drive 2000 isn't a normal modern racing game. Instead it's a very simplistic racing game, which gameplay wise might come from the 80s and also has an aesthetic style of the 80s. Meaning lots of bright blue and purple colors, much like Farcry Blood Dragon or the recent Kung Fury.

Personally I am not a fan of the racing games genre, but I like little arcade games now and then like "Race the Sun". In addition I love the 80s style and Synthwave music.
And it seems like this game is mostly about the rush of speed and this particular music, featuring lots of cool bands like:
Vector Hold
Dance with the Dead
Dynatron

You can find the kickstarter projects here:

And here is a snippet of the gameplay:
