Age of Empires II "HD Edition" to launch on Steam

Age of Empires II "HD Edition" to launch on Steam on April 9th. Pre-order is $18.oo, anyone else getting it?
I dont really have a favorite faction, I like using all of them, it's an incredibly fun RTS

I like playing the game co-op vs computer opponents if any rpg bros want to play, I'm down.

I played it many years ago although I only tend to go through the campaigns in TBS/RTS games - heresy I know, but I like my games to have a plot with a start and finish. I seem to remember particularly enjoying the one with Joan D'Arc.

Is there more content with this release, or is it just a prettification of the graphics?

Looks like prettifying, and integration of the toolset into the steam workshop thing.

Im not really ever into mp on rts, i do the campaigns as well, but in this one i really got into playing coop mp due to people where i went to work were all playing in the lan at lunch. I couldnt believe my good fortune, i was working w/ a bunch of gamers!

So yeah, The enemy ai is excellent, it can be really fun to set like 3 ai opponents and duke it out w/ another player.

Hm all the interest but Microsoft still wont make a new game. I'm not counting the discontinued Age Of Empires online.

they tried w/ Age of Empires III, and I gave it several honest tries, but it just sucks.
AOE online is kinda charming, but it just doesnt stack up to the prior games.

The last good Age game was Age of Mythology!

I never could get into AoM. I tried several times, but I just didn't see what was so great about it. I also couldn't find a difficulty level that I was comfortable with. I thought the default difficulty was too easy, but I found Hard to be somewhat frustrating.
