Default General News - Vista Updates

August 9th, 2007, 03:07
Via GameBanshee comes news that might be of interest to Vista users with two updates that may help people having trouble with older games:
The first is the "Performance and Reliability" pack, which speeds up the file copying process, fixes some video card support issues, takes care of some memory leaks, and more. The second (and more important) update is the "Compatibility and Reliability" pack, which apparently gets rid of the annoying "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error that plagues people trying to play the KotOR games (among others), corrects visual issues in graphics-intensive games, addresses lockups and restarts while playing video games, and more. Needless to say, I'm downloading both of these now.
nVidia G80 series cards seem to be particularly affected, so check it out.
More information.
