XBox 360 / PS3 achievement systems

Next gen console makers usually track the player´s achievements online, for example via XBox Live. I have a simple question:
Can this crap be disabled? I don´t want the whole world to know what I play and how I suck at it.

haha! Yes, actually you can turn it off.
Select your gamer card thing, go to games played and enter the privacy settings.

The PS3 won't have achievements … but the XBOX360 has actually done stupid things like showing people playing in secret / unlockable areas through their achievements / friends list - it happened last week in the new Splinter Cell game …
