This is strange considering that it is still on Steam (and only Steam it seems!).

This was known and previously announced when they made it free for 48 hours at the start of their last sale. Sad, but I can only imagine that greed and desire for control by those who now own the rights is responsible.

So its the DRM free business then again, otherwise they would have removed it from Steam as well. We should be seeing 'Fallout collection' game collections (Steamworks ofcourse) in shops by Bethesda in preparation for Fallrim 4.

By the way, happy new year to everyone.

I kind of have a feeling Bethesda might see CD Projekt Red as a potential threat with Witcher 3 going open world, possibly putting it in competition with TES. Basically pulling GOG's ability to sell the Fallout titles in an effort to not help fund them.

Some excellent deals at the Microsoft store, but unfortunately they seem to be sold out of most titles already. I was going to pounce on Borderlands 2 at that price…

The last day of the sale is currently running at Steam, and it seems they brought back most of the popular deals. I personally caved and got the Skyrim Legendary Edition at 66% off.

Dominions 4 has its first major sale. 66% off on GG.

(For EU users: Cheaper on gamersgate.com than gamersgate.co.uk)
Key works on steam, for those who care about such things.

I think I played Dominions 3 (or maybe 2, it was some years ago), but found it too memory intensive (not computer memory, but my own, having to remember which units were good for and what realms had what units and what gods, etc). I may give this another try, but seems to me the main attraction of D4 is multiplayer additions, which I couldn't care less about.

Hmm… Tempting, but as I have bought and still not played Dominions 3, hard to justify even at this price. Especially since I'll probably only play SP.

Here's a video comparing 3 and 4. Lots of small changes, apparently, including better UI, + 20% more units, spells, etc, as well as live multi-player.

Yikes, I didn't like it because it had too many units, spells, etc and now it has 20% more?

That's what I read. Looks like 20% more races, and double the pre-generated maps, too.

You really only need to learn the broad categories that most units fit into in order to play Dominions 3 (and 4) properly. While the difference between two different types of pikemen might be of interest to the hardcore player, for the regular one, you really don't need to worry all that much about it. Also, most "wild" creatures are rather self-explanatory in how they work. There is a bit that you need to learn, but once you get the hang of it, and will quickly be able to determine what neutrals you can fight and what neutrals you can't fight. Also, due to the way the game is set up, with the different era, you can focus on learning one era at a time, and thus there are a lot less units to memorize (I would recommend late era, if you just want one that is easy to get into, although I find early to be more fun. Basically late=Less magic but a few more (and usually heavier) units, early=plenty of magic, slightly fewer units)

Also, Dominions 4 seem to be easier to get into, yet I've found a few places where they've added more (interesting) choices, thus making it deeper.

Oh no, for me it would definitely be early era, I have an aversion for anything modern-like in my fantasy games… Gunpowder = instant frown.
