Is this basically the spiritual sequel to Boiling Point? That game had a great concept but poor implementation. Maybe the've got more money to do this one right this time.

Yep, that is about it. I really liked BP despite the flaws, and am therefore quite looking forward to this.
Oh, and was looking at screens posted elsewhere - which ended up being the same ones - and really like the transparency used in all of the HUD elements.
