DODDTHESLAYER 2.0_RISE OF THE ANCIENTS (A Tribute to Flamestryke)


Mod is now updated to version 2.3

Since nearly 20 bugs have been discovered since the release of version 2.0 i felt it better to release a new version rather than have everyone download 2.0 and then have to add 2 patches for 2.2 and 2.3
Take a look at the bottom of the readme file for all the changes.
All the links for 2.0 and patch 2.2 are no longer usable because they are not needed now.

Note that there is only 1 link now instead of 3. The others were hardly being used by comparrison. Divshare is three times more popular than the other two.

Recommend that you download them to a new folder on your desktop and unpack them there.
please read the readme file for further details about the mod. But for now i will give you all a list of what has been added since version 1.4

1) Only one versin of the mod which was built on top of version 1.4 expert.
2) 5 new locations created by me and one new dungeon created by Qusari.
3) Extended storyline connected by my 4 of my 5 new locations.
4) Lots of new items and a few new monsters.
5) The new skill of enchanter for specialist spellcasters.
6) Instrument and Gadget upgrades for Bards and Gadgeteers.
7) A new intro to replace the Sirtech intro created by Qusari.
8) Hirable RPC's with voices. (Only the sirtech pcs voices).
9) Generated traders now gone in exchange for reliable static ones.

UPDATE:
There is now a Patch_2.4 which is very important. You can download it here:

This changes all the new items for Bards and Gadgeteers, because game code was not recognising the upgrades as they were.
You can read more about this and 2 other changes in the readme file.
This patch is only to be applied to installed mod version_2.3

Because of the growing gap between downloads of parts 1 & 2 at Mediafire i have decided to use an alternative that allowed me to upload the mod as a single file.
This means that the download will be slower, but there will be no more strange installation problems that people were getting due to not having all of part 2.

so the links above have been changed to the new single file download from which there is a choice of 3 sites, and i have also used this as an opportunity to fix a few minor bugs and to shrink the mod by removing unused tga files.

You have come to it at just the right time. A few minor bugs not found in testing have been fixed and everything is easier now with the single download instead of 2 parts as before.

I've downloaded the mod, but with my commitments to U6P, it will be a long time before I have a chance to try it out.

If God said it, then that settles it!!

Based on my run with v1.3 of the mod, I think you'll enjoy it, Corwin. It gives the game some new legs.

Did you play the expert version of 1.3 ?
If not then you are going to find this one tough because i built it on top of the expert version.
I am currently playing a 4 man party using all 4 specialist spellcasters to test my new enchantment skill. They have all died several times over.
It is tough starting out with a party that all have 10 or less hit points at level 1
But it is a lot of fun using their ne skill.
I would recommend to anyone who normally plays a bishop to change him to a specialist spell caster on your first level up and then keep him there just to try it out and then if you don't particularly rate the new enchanter skill you can always switch your spellcaster back to a bishop.

btw. Just in case none of you are inclined to look at the readme file there is a link to a spoiler folder containing the list of all the combinations that the 4 enchanters can use to improve items. It is here:

Nope, normal version for me. At the time, I was more interested in seeing what you had done quest- and world-wise than worrying about getting my butt handed to me. I even ran my "uber party build" (other than swapping a gadgy in for the usual bard) to keep combat fairly straight-forward. I figured my non-combat focus was pretty obvious from all the whining I did about the treasure hunters.

My next run would have been more focused on combat changes, so v2.0 being based on the "expert" build sounds good to me.

How do you open the door in that sailor-place (the one with the axe that needs to go into the stone)? The door to the portal is locked and I cannot find the key…

Have you not spoken to captain Braveheart yet ? Look for a shaft cover.
You just reminded me of something i need to change in the mod so that players do not get trapped and have to go back to an earlier save.

Yes, I had to disable the anti-magic field so that I could teleport out… that's one useful program, that Cosmic Forge…

Yes. that issue is now fixed in the patch i just put out. You don't need an item to open the shaft cover now.
I would suggest you apply the patch. This will put the no magic field back up and still allow you passage to the new area.
otherwise you will not experience this location the way it was intended. Your choice of course, but there are technical reasons why i made this a no magic zone. If you don't change it back this may prevent you from entering 3 out of the five new locations.

Please read the latest entry in the patch thread for this mod.
Soory everyone, i was a little late in editing the link for the patch to take the mod to version 2.2.
All links in the first post of this thread are now valid.

Dodd do you have another place to download it from because divshare won't let anyone in China or Southeast Asia download it without joining it. Here is what the site says:

Is there someway you could put it up somewhere that is friendly to people in Asia
