open locked chests

I know this is probably a stupid question but I figure it must have a simple answer to it. I just cant seem to open a locked chest… even having that clip that is needed, how do I unlock it?

You must have the hairpins or lockpicks in a quickslot. Click on the corresponding number and then on the lock.

It also helps to use someone with a high lockpick skill as well. Welcome to the forums.
