Cleaning up Firefox
August 11th, 2009, 21:37
Found this nice little page regarding Firefox 3 and 3.5.
Vacuum your Firefox databases for better performance.
Files got smaller, and Firefox is very responsive again. Particularly the location bar aka the Awesome Bar has been sluggish for me lately, but is now back up to speed.
In case you don't like working with the command line too much, there's also a tool called IniFox that does everything for you. Only in Spanish though, but there's a little tutorial in English that tells you what to do. Basically download IniFox via the green button, close Firefox, run Inifox, press key, wait a couple seconds, press key. Done.

this is quite a good technique. i don't use local bookmarks much, preferring online ones but the logic behind the VACUUM command is valid.
