I was very unlucky in the forest because although i searched all ranged opponents i didn't found any bow as loot.
Anyway my point is that a bow (or a mague staff , or a polearm ) should be in start choices or presented right in front of your eyes at the very beginning.

I have already bought Risen but didn't like it at all, Gothic was not that bad but definitely not one of my favourites ( I am TES fanboy) , i always get first runs (sometime second too) on easy and most games don't do it right . I shouldn't be forced to use any potions in the Witcher and so far it is okay not having to use any tactics in DO.
I think you're confusing 'easy' with 'god mode'. I mean, you're playing an RPG game not an adventure game. Stats and equipment are there for a reason, so you can beat your opponents, but you still have to do some work!

Hmm, well, all I can say is, that at the very beginning of Morrowind, (TES 3), you start out with zero weapons at all. In fact your first ever weapon is a knife, that you have to actually steal. if you miss the opportunity to steal it, you go out into the world with zero weapons and zero armour.

IIRC, you start TES 4 (Oblivion) off in rags in a cell, no armour, no weapons. You have to loot those as you go along.

In Dragon Age, you do start with weapons in your inventory. And if you start as a mage, you get a staff almost from scratch, plus you come equipped with a few spells. In Risen, for instance, you start off with rags, and if you don't have the savvy to pick up a stick, you start off with no weapon at all.

I'm sorry, but as far as I am concerned, Dragon Age is actually very lenient in that regard. Except for the City Elf scenario, you come already equipped with both weapons and armour, right from the very start.

Btw, I just went and counted now. At the point after the Ostergard battle where you end up back in the wilds and aquire Morrigan, I already had 8 different bows and 2 or 3 crossbows in my inventory. A good few swords and maces too. Sadly, my inventory is also full.

I did find it irritating that you can't nominate of weapons you have specialised in at the outset of the game. I found it especially annoying that no origin starts with 2 handers. It's not really an issue as a rogue, as your starting talent is Dirty Fighting, which is never a waste, and there are only two weapon styles to choose from, and the game seems to cater to both in terms of equipment you can get early.

Starting equipment isn't really an issue, because the combat in the origins is trivially easy. Just spec the way you want, and then get the weapon you want at Ostagar from the quartermaster.

I don't like how it spends your first talent as a warrior, though. I don't want to make a sword and board warrior, I have Alistair! I suppose my warrior playthrough should be the City Elf origin, they start with DW Sweep, iirc. Then again, do I want to play a DW warrior, given my Rogue playthrough will be DW. Maybe I should play a 2hander Warrior. Mighty Blow is pretty… mighty. Indomitable is just awesome, too.

You start in a room full of stuff you can sell in the tradeshop next door and get a bow

There is a free bow and arrow 20 meters from where action starts, actually you only need to kill a rat with the sword ( you can also use fireball spell instead)

Sure but i 'd prefer to chose my weapons from the start.

Yes but in Risen you can easily find 1 of the 6 swords of the game on the beach, still , no bow
