After additional thinking, RhoGu as an assassin rogue will be hot garbage as a solo toon, so I'm probably better off designating him for the group. Also, quick question- after a quick glance, it looks like the Nature's Warden tree pretty well sucks, meaning a melee druid (at least one that uses animal forms) pretty well sucks. Caster druid FTW?

So (obviously, this ain't a binding contract and we're all pretty flexible, so subject to change):
Trap monkey #1: Az
Trap monkey #2: dte
Healing ability #1: Peter
Healing ability #2:……….(cleric, FvS, druid, bard)
Melee #1:
Melee #2:
Open #1: Corwin wizzy
Open #2:

No bid yet: CM, Reywind, Aletys, JM

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.

I plan to keep my Friday toon (Lyahnna) as a rogue, specifically as a trap monkey. Since I only play her once a week, I'm still figuring out how to do that. Of my other active toons, I've got:
  • Bryhana (arcane ranger) sitting at level 24 (though she's actually got enough xp to hit level 26). Will eventually TR her back into an AA, though may splash her with some rogue levels.
  • Jhianna (Cleric) is sitting at level 23, and will eventually TR back into a cleric
  • Elysanna (artificer) is at level 21, and will eventually TR back into an arty, but may change race
  • Diahnna (Archmage wizard) is level 15, and I don't know what I'll do with her next life, but have been using her to run with folks who want someone to run with for catchup, etc.
  • Leliahnna (wizard/rogue) is currently at level 6, same role as Diahnna, currently running with Jo's Brialle. Don't know what I'll do with her either.

I'm not planning on TR'ing Bryhana, Jhianna or Elysanna anytime soon. I'm enjoying playing them at the epic levels (and it's all new to me).

Diahnna & Leliahnna are TBD at this point. Playing a non-cleric spellcaster is new to me & I'm still figuring out. They're also primarily my "makeup helper" toons.

As far as doing an epic level quest each week, I think that would be great. I'd recommend including Devil Assault on a fairly regular basis, as it not only reliably yields tokens, but also Shroud mats. Well, at least it usually does. Right now all anything (including the Shroud) is yielding is festival coins. My last three Shroud runs yielded maybe 1-2 shards total for the entire group and very few mats. My last two Devil Assault runs have yielded mostly coins instead of tokens/shards/Shroud mats.

Quick note: I'm TBD for tonight. I'm not feeling well, and don't know if I'll be up for it. I'll update before 7pm.

Edit:

And I will be available through the Christmas holiday, at least as far as I know right now. We won't be traveling this year, and we don't have anything on the calendar, except for Christmas day, of course.

Dte, caster druids (especially when they get elemental form) are still quite effective with a pointy stick. I often play mine as a more melee than caster druid, depending on the needs of the group. You may, for example have noticed Az's flame aura which does damage while he stands there in melee range. They work well both ways.

If God said it, then that settles it!!

My hope is to TR shortcakes soon. The what has been the question. Might just take her into monk if trappers are spoken for. Or maybe a caster. Or maybe a fighter….crap I don't know. Have not made her any gs stuff because of not knowing. My current cleric I will leave as cleric, stacking up some past life stuff for her and seeing how that effects her. I will have something that fits group needs for Friday. Let those with specific wants pick first while my mind chews on it a bit more.

Bart and Corwin should just admit that when it gets down to it, I will have the final say.

Updates, see bold above. I'm not sure which toon from her list Aletys had in mind for the group. Really, I'm doing this WAAAAAY too early—keep in mind that this next group won't get started for several months. One thing to consider is that the assassin rogue might sorta pass for a melee. Having 3 trap monkeys wouldn't be all bad since we'd have more flexibility when splitting the group. Don't seem to have any takers on that 2nd healing spot. Maybe it works better if I plan on running Phuury as a druid. Sorry folks, my compulsion to plan is running amok. Amok, I tell ya.

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.

FYI, my trapper is ranged, not melee. She's a mechanic rogue.

Ah, sorry, guess I didn't make that clear. I plan to TR my current Friday toon, Lyahnna, back into a rogue. Right now I'm planning on another mechanic (which means ranged), but, well, I might change my mind before then & go assassin. TBD.

Depending on group makeup, I may attempt either a hybrid, or some off-melee build since we seem to have the main roles covered.

Looks like we've got the makings of a plan. As mentioned before, we've got a good while before these decisions have to be finalized and it seems that most of us have some flexibility so we should be good to go.

I put together RhoGu's build last night and started tinkering with a druid build for Phuury. Not in a big hurry since neither toon will come around until Shadohe gets capped. She's about half way thru 18 now with lots of XP-rich areas available, so I'd say a few weeks should be sufficient.

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.

You might want to upgrade to 4.19.03. Don't know what all was affected, but I know they fixed the costs on several enhancements. Probably won't change anything, but you might want to doublecheck at some point. Definitely an interesting build, though. Handwraps, I assume?

There's been a few minor changes, here and there, since I last downloaded the character generator. So I'm aware it's out of date.

A few points:

- TWF feats now (maybe WAI?) work with animal form. Tested it on a quick and dirty Iconic rough up of this.

- This build basically requires Human due to feat restrictions. An alternative is 17/2/1 with a Fighter level thrown in to help fit in all the martial feats. The Monk restricted feat list is too restrictive.

- As should be obvious from the build, you remain centered in animal form, as long as all other requirements are met.

- 32 points into NW is basically required for the cooldown reduction for casting in wolf form. Rest went into Shintao for a small measure of defense and dps, and SH for SLAs and spell power.

- Fire elemental form w/ Body of the Sun would probably be higher dps than wolf, later on. So long as nothing is immune to fire.

- Flame blades do not uncenter you. So that is an option as well. Wolf form will make it use STR as normal, rather than WIS, for to-hit and damage. Handwraps are the likely choice though, for most situations.

The theory is a group-healing melee, much in tune with Mirys' original build. Spell points will be low, meaning it'll be a buffer/healer/dpser, with limited spell dps options from SLAs and AoE DoTs. This is actually a more solo-friendly build, but with us shortmanning regularly, and having the basics covered in TR5, more versatile characters get more use.

The thing I'm not happy with is the low reflex, making evasion that much less useful. It's also Paladin-like in it's MAD nature. I need STR, CON, DEX, and WIS, and could use INT for skills.

It's all theoretic anyway. I'll probably think more on a build later, as we close in on the next TR group.

Intelligence 8 & Wisdom 16 … I'm trying to figure out a person in RL with that … It could be someone having what we call in German language "Bauernschläue" … Dict.leo.org translates this as "shrewdness" …

I might be late tonight. I have not received my marching orders yet and expect to see them roughlyt 2 seconds before they take effect. Perhaps a token farming Devil Assault to kill time if things go south? If I'm not there after an hour, assume I've indulged in a little seasonal spouse-icide and rock on without me.

Did Reywind get any help catching up the 2 GH walkups? The rest of us from last week's cursed party completed Cry and Trial the next day, but Reywind wasn't on. If he has not caught up, it's not the end of the world. We've got Maze and Feast still to run and we can always pivot to Lordsmarch2 if necessary to buy him time.

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.

I think we can first check if anyone need to catch-up and then deal with that.

These are the GH quests that should have been completed:
- Foundation of Discord
- Cry for Help
- Trial by Fire

When we are caught up we could run Devil Assault until Dte shows up or more than one hour has passed.

The quests we should be doing next are (in sequence):
- Maze of Madness
- Feast or Famine
- Crucible
- Madstone Crater
- Cabal for One
- Prison of the Planes
- Gianthold Tor

Then we can collect the saga reward. We should now all be flagged for the Reaver's Fate quest. That can probably be run later at normal difficulty. I could do the mastermind puzzle.
