PC RPG News let us know they have a hands-on preview of Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword. Here's a snip:

There are a few important changes in this iteration's formula.  I never came across an arena, and after making bank in Warband by winning tournament after tournament, I miss the omission.  The game world isn't the only thing that's changed, players will also experience firearms for the first time in an un-modded Mount and Blade title.  This addition has a huge impact, making calvary much more vulnerable to NPC infantry then ever before.  The first thing I did when I entered With Fire and Sword's universe was rush a group of fairly low level bandits.  I expected to slowly circle slash them into submission.

Instead my mount was shot dead from under me as I advanced.  I was executed in a second volley.
