Neocron - Update Interview @ RPG Vault
RPG Vault talks to Christian Schuett and Dirk Wilhelmy of the Neocron team about the title's history and the release of v2.2.
Jonric: When did Neocron Evolution 2.2 go live, and what was the main element you concentrated on adding or enhancing?
Dirk Wilhelmy: Neocron 2.2 was released on March 12, 2007. We made available a new version of the client, but it is also possible to update with patches.
The Evolution 2.2 package's main focus was the adjustment and rework of several key game mechanisms. At the core, we brought more structure into the implementation of the different classes in Neocron (GenTank, Spy, PSI Monk und Private Eye) and their different combat orientations (i.e. Rifle Combat). All items in Neocron have something called a TechLevel, which mainly served as use restriction in the past. In Neocron 2.2, the quality and therefore the power of items was more closely linked to the TechLevel system. It is now easier for players to determine the advantages of an item through this.

Neocron - v2.2 Released
Neocron has a such a low profile this is the first time we've had occasion to post a newsbit since we moved to this site. Still, a major upgrade has been released with v2.2 now available - here's the announcement and links to various bits of info for those interested in checking it out:
After a lot of hard work, we are excited to present Neocron Evolution 2.2 to you. In close collaboration with the Neocron 2 community, we have completely reworked the base systems like character abilities, game items, PvP and PvE combat and vehicles.
