Gods & Heroes - Hands-On @ IGN
IGN has some hands-on impressions of Perpetual's Gods & Heroes:
Gods & Heroes is a quest driven action adventure MMO. While they're trying to distance the game from the typical RPG tag you see on many of these titles, there's still a very strong character building mechanic that includes leveling up and gaining both strength and ability. To begin the game players choose a gender and class. Classes include Gladiator (damage melee), Mystic (damage caster), Priest (healer caster), Rogue (sneaky bastard), Scout (ranged damage and damage prevention), and Soldier (tank melee).
What sets the classes apart is the next step in the character creation process: choosing a patron god. For instance, Scouts can choose between Diana and Apollo while Soldiers can choose between Mars and Minerva. Perpetual chose the gods present both for how well their known and how appropriate they were to be patron gods for each class. Putting Mars with the Priests wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.
