Lord of the Rings Online - Review @ YouGamers

YouGamers takes Lord of the Rings Online for a spin and finds that not much is new under the sun.

I still say that LOTRO is a fine game but I don't think that the guys at Blizzard have anything to worry about this competitor in the long term. LOTRO is a healthy diversion, a side-dish for a MMO junkie or perhaps a good light main course for the uninitiated newbie or a casual gamer, but I sincerely doubt it will keep you hooked for years. Go pick it up, give it a spin - preferably with some friends - but don't expect it to last forever. In fact, I fear there may be backlash by those who went ahead and paid almost 200$ for a lifetime subscription when they find out that they are out of content after a couple of months. Yes, there are free updates with additional content coming, but it's not going to be enough - it never is.
