Blizzard has announced a new in-game event, the Midsummer Fire Festival.

The Midsummer Fire Festival is here, signaling a time of merriment and a chance to revel in the hottest season of the year by lighting celebratory bonfires across the land and sharing in what the elemental spirits have to offer. Also of note at the official site today, is the news that the World of Warcraft Guide has been updated to reflect the changes made in the 1.11 patch.

We've updated the World of Warcraft guide for the 1.11 patch, Shadow of the Necropolis. Some of the major updates include:

* New flight paths added to the world map
* New epic rewards for Warsong Gulch
* New PvP weapons
* Cenarion Circle class quest rewards updated
