Free up at least 15% of your partition where you plan to install gothic. Then defragment your harddrive with some commercial defragmenter (Diskeeper∞ for example, has 30 day trial), as they work much better than built-in Windows one. Defragment two times if possible to get the maxiumum out of it. Defragment your OS partition aswell.

Defragmeting your hard drive will increase performance dramaticaly, it is a must.
