Before the orc war, Silden was a city mostly inhabited by hunters. In fact, there were so many of them the city itself was revered to as ‘The City of Hunters’. The city itself is surrounded with large open plains where many animals live. There are large populations of wolves, snappers, lurkers and especially bisons. These large flocks of bisons always made sure there was enough meat to feed every mouth in the city.
The ruins in the middle of the lake south of Silden are all what remains of an old castle of the paladins. Down river, near Trelis, a dam was constructed (most people think by mages) which blocked the water traveling to the sea. Because of this the water level rose fast, so fast that most paladins didn’t even have the time to evacuated from the castle. Most of the paladins which survived the water went to the paladin stronghold of Gotha. Fishermen have been fishing on the lake ever since.
The orcs first entered Myrtana when they came over the hills north-east of Silden. Therefore Silden was the first city in Myrtana to fall. The orcs made Silden into a city which supplied the caravans to the south with food. Fishing on the lake has come to a standstill because the orcs did not allow for any large ships to be build. The hunters left the city to live in hunting cabins on the open plains and in the mountains. The water mill has been stopped and is now used for storage.
