The Shadowbeast

Overview

The Shadowbeast is a large carnivorous mammal indigenous to the Gothic world. In appearance it looks like a cross between a rhino and a Siberian tiger. Its horn and hide are highly valued by merchants and hunters, but its incredible strength and speed make it hazardous to hunt. Approach with caution.

Habitat

Shadowbeasts are usually found in forested regions, and live in dense copses of trees, although the are often known to make their homes in caves. They almost always live alone, and far away from each other, as their individual hunting grounds span a good distance.

Tactics

When and if you allow a Shadowbeast to spot you, it will get up and give chase. If you are a warrior, attack it with melee weapons in the usual manner. If you are a mage or archer, the best tactic is to use the terrain to your advantage by finding a place where it can't reach you. This way, you will be able to kill it at your leisure.
