The Forgotten City was originally a mod for Skyrim but is now a standalone game and was revealed during E3.

The Forgotten City is a time travel murder mystery in a mythological city. Deep underground in an ancient Roman city, 26 trapped explorers lay dead because one of them broke a mysterious law. A portal leads back to the past, allowing you to change their fate - or witness their deaths in a time loop for eternity.

Key features:

  • Investigate a dark, gripping mystery full of twists and intrigue

  • Solve problems your own way, with reason, charm, bribery, stealth, threats, violence - or cleverly exploit the time-loop

  • Explore a stunning and intricate city rendered with Unreal Engine

  • Interrogate richly detailed characters with interwoven lives

  • Grapple with moral dilemmas which have life-and-death consequences

  • Choose your own gender, race, and backstory

  • Listen to an achingly beautiful orchestral score and first class voice acting

Does anyone know that original mod? It looks interesting. It got some award for writing/story.
Yes I know this game is based off the Skyrim mod, but it's completely different.

I played the mod, I highly recommend it.
The game look good, especially atmosphere and graphics wise. Also, the shift from TES setting (although the original mod wasn't really in the setting) to this early 20th century noir setting has me intrigued.

Looks surprisingly good, visually.
Though I'd go with a different, more exotic setting ( Aztec, Babylon, etc), given the story.

Agreed.
That time travel element looks also intriguing if you could learn from your mistakes, change some of your decisions and let story flow differently.
