Yeah the childish 3d graphics are a tun-off. This coming from someone who played every Harvest moon, and it's spin-offs in the past. Wish they'd make another Rune Factory.

Was about to make the same comment. Since HM transitioned to these kind of chiby anime style 3D graphics, it lost its appeal to me. Look at Stardew Valley, you don't have to make a game in 3D for it to be palatable for modern tastes.

I don't know what you're referencing here, but simulation doesn't really = game. Simulation is more hobby. You know, like having a digital train set or a digital model airplane kit.

We've trained ourselves to call everything that's digital and interactable a computer game when the truth is that pretty much all our old pastimes are now digital, not just the games.
