- You can’t play the mod without Community-Patch 1.74 and the Questpacket 4.1.
- It doesn’t give a guarantee for a faultless modification.

I can't be the only one more interested in this than ArcaniA!

It's a shame most of these mods are so German-centered as it looks like they help G3 live up to its potential.

This would have been amazing if I had the time and patience to actually play a 100 hour game again (and I still didn't manage to finish it.)
I've played quite far, but being a mage is too easy and I am not going to start all over, so maybe after my exams.

I'm thinking of buying Risen instead and playing through that though…

Gorath October 16th, 2010 20:17

You still don't have Risen?!

DArtagnan October 18th, 2010 14:11

Does this mean the Questpack is also in english?

Also: What balance-changes?

No, I've been busy with university. Third year is really hard. I'm doing Partial differential equations, Communication systems, Finance and Electronic Device Modeling.
I also need to go through my odes first, my transforms and my statistical analysis of random processes.

I'm also in the process of applying for finance internships and in my free time I've been playing through some short Heroes of Might and Magic 3 scenario's.

So, I might play Risen after exams, since I get a few months of holidays :)

I think I'm not going to do very well for my exams though unfortunately. :(

Afaik the English translation was cancelled.

You should ask this at WoG. The thread over there says a release candidate for the latest QuestPack has been made available a couple of days ago. Its description mentions that all "lines of the QP" have been translated into English, whatever this means.

Okay, your exams are of course more important. Risen can wait. Good luck! :)

Doesn't seem so. But I didn't really follow it. You should ask in that WoG thread.

Thanks :) word count

Do you have to start over if you install this?

Gorath October 22nd, 2010 16:13

It's clear the quest pack makes some changes early on, although its main focus is the late game. So you should probably start over.

From the CSP, yes. It's a different thing than this this content mod, as far as I gather.
You might confuse people posting it in this thread. :p

I didn't create a new thread because Gothic 3 improvements don't get enough attention here after the last Community Patch. Thought that one picture might stir up discussion though.

Okay, then.
I think the CSP is worth its own thread, nonetheless.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. Supposedly they'd integrate the Content mod and Questpack stuff that is compatible with what they're doing. Basically, we'd have one major mod.
The stuff on their advent calendar got me pretty optimistic. :)

Gorath January 3rd, 2011 19:44

Feel free to open a new thread if you want to.

Me too, it'll be the patch to help G3 realize it's full potential.

Meanwhile the graphical potential of Genome has probably already been reached.

Holy cow. Those screens look absolutely AMAZING.

I hadn't seen those yet, where did you find them? Are those screens from the CSP or what? If they're just regular G3 with the CP 1.74, I seriously need to crank up some settings…

Kostas January 6th, 2011 18:21

I got those off WoG's Picture of the month thread.

As usual Google's translation sucks but it looks like the user used only :
  • Community Patch 1.74
  • A texture pack (BlackFog from QP4 or Pre-Alpha that afaik will be included in the CSP)
  • A modified .INI (like the one here or this one)
  • SuperSampling
  • A few additional DoF settings

Could be running like a slideshow but if these were screenshots from Risen 2 in mid 2011 I'd be excited.

I agree! Looks fabulous.
I'd have to try that some time, those tweaks, when I get some more spare time on my hands.

Thanks for the info.
