Will Gothic 2 Gold work in Win 7?
 

I have been searching all over the internet for the past hour and I can't seem to find if Gothic 2 Gold will work with Windows 7 or not. Does anybody have any knowledge regarding this?

Try this thread. I haven't tried to play Gothic II on Win7 yet so I can't verify any of these fixes.

Also another Gothic fix. Still unverified.

I run G2 on Win7/64 with no problems. The only thing I've heard is that there is an issue with nvidia cards that requires the latest nvidia beta driver. With ati cards, everything works well.

i can confirm it works alright with ATI…
had some issues with nVidia… didn't try beta drivers that should fix it.

It does work on Win7, but you might need to coax it a bit. There are many different fixes and I've experienced varied results with them. I guess it depends a lot on your rig (and it doesn't hurt if the stars are right for you ;)). Why don't you start by reading Ergonpandilus' advice on this thread first: http://www.rpgwatch.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7359. If those don't work, try the GothicStarter (link found in my post on that thread). ANd if you have an Nvidia card, get the latest drivers, as adviced above.
