A hard DVD copy of Divinity 2 :DKS - Where?

Hello guys,
do you have any idea where can I buy a hard DVD copy of Divinity 2: Dragon Knights Saga? I looked on the official pages but there was only download version. I know most of you dont care, but I love my game collection on the shelve ;-)

Wulf November 28th, 2010 20:04

Yes, the same goes for me - a hard copy freak, always have been, maybe try game-co-uk…

http://www.game.co.uk/search.aspx?&s…on+Knight+Saga

At the moment ebay looks mostly to have Xbox versions.

Majnun November 28th, 2010 22:09

If GoGamer ships to where you are they've got it for $30 on sale right now.

http://www.gogamer.com/Divinity-II--…VVviewprod.htm

It'll be back up to $40 when the sale ends.

Roland November 29th, 2010 00:23

www.gogamer.com is where I just ordered mine during the sale :)

Still on SALE for 8 more hrs!!! (as of this post time)

darkling November 29th, 2010 00:31

For Americans.

Moriendor November 29th, 2010 23:44

This is pretty lame (regarding my DKS preorder which was originally due for release on 11/26/2010) …

Seems like the English PC retail release has indeed entirely been cancelled by the publisher since neither GAME nor Play.com nor Amazon.co.uk are selling the game.

Dwagginz November 30th, 2010 00:03

Damn, that sucks. I was holding out for the retail release, too. I wonder what Larian have to say about it?

coaster November 30th, 2010 11:25

I've emailed Mastertronic, who are distributing the UK X360 version, to ask whether there will be a PC version. Will post any reply I get here.

Glorian November 30th, 2010 13:09

Probably Larian decided it this way… so they can generate as many as possible downloads on their own online shop :-)
And I fully support them, but why they do not offer a hard copy along with the download ? Probably too much effort for them..

Sooner or later the game will be published, so the old geeks like us will have to wait some more time.

coaster November 30th, 2010 14:32

Well, I heard back:

I may have to give in and get the digital version.

Moriendor November 30th, 2010 15:24

Cool. Thanks for checking, coaster. That is fairly disappointing news. Oh well, no DKS then. Not paying ~€40 for a digital version with limited activations from Larian… for digital I'd pay €15 - €19 max… and not buying the German version because it isn't multilingual. No big deal tho'. I got more than enough unplayed/unfinished games anyway :) .

Gorath November 30th, 2010 18:28

No German version? The German Divinity 2 loca was excellent. FoV is a bit weaker but still pretty good.

No, I don't want to play the German version because of the humorous stuff in the game. I mean can you imagine watching a localized Monty Python movie? Not really, right? :)
Anything humorous usually translates terribly to another language or is completely lost in translation. If I ever get around to acquiring an English version of the game then I want to experience the original script of DKS as it was written by the developers.

Gorath November 30th, 2010 19:37

You mean you want to play the English version as written by the Belgian developers? ;)

Alrik Fassbauer November 30th, 2010 22:30

Well, for FOV at least … I can't say. NDA. ;)

But a tiny hint : A few word games in FOV got lost. As far as I know.
On the other hand I must say that I haven't played FOV yet, because I wanted to wait for DKS.

I have only been testing at Larian's. ;)

The English PC version of DKS is apparently available as a boxed version in the BeNeLux. So it physically exists, which makes the decision to not distribute it in the UK strange.

Dwagginz December 1st, 2010 00:16

On the Larian forums, it seems to be the good ol' "The UK game market is destroying the world" argument, which was also tagged onto dtp's Grey Matter, I believe.

Amazon.ca has it. Go Canada!

Roland December 1st, 2010 03:05

My gogamer order is still in "Processing" mode…

/crosses fingers

JDR13 December 1st, 2010 03:14

I'm surprised to hear it's not out in the UK. I had assumed that was where my import copy was from.

Roland December 1st, 2010 07:04

Got the "product has Shipped" email from gogamer so I guess I got lucky :)

Do you live in US?

Yes since the game was "programmed" or rather written in English due to Larian's international staff. The dialogues, quests, jokes and humorous episodes were all originally written and created in English and that's why English is the original version of the game and that's why I want to play the goddamn English version and English version only :) .

It's already been released in most places.

If you live in the US, you can order it from GoGamer.com, although they're sold out at the moment.

You might want to keep an eye on Ebay as well.

Glorian February 8th, 2011 08:49

I live in Europe and I was not able to find hard copy DKS for PC :-(

Any suggestions?

Dark Savant February 8th, 2011 09:04

You can order it from Benelux. It is an English version.

This shop supports paypal and international shipping
http://www.freerecordshop.nl/pc_dvd/…on-knight-saga

here are some other shops
http://www.budgetgaming.be/game-prof…t+saga_PC.html

I am waiting for a price drop before ordering this compilation.

Glad to have found this thread. GoGamer.com still has the hard copy for sale. Between the cost of the game and shipping I paid a little more than $38.00. I have looked for a hard copy all over the place and GoGamer is the only one I have found that offers it this way. Amazon.com only has it avaliable in download.

szokol February 9th, 2011 22:29

Buy it here in Hungary!
Bought it yesterday in Media Mark, the price was no more than 3.000 HUF (11EUR)!

shaf February 9th, 2011 22:53

I was able to get mine at EBGames (Gamestop) although their PC Game selection is getting worse.

Was in my local Gamesttop a week ago and someone whop works there and is a BIG PC gamer (doesn't like consoles nor their ports) said because of Steam's massive success, along with G.O.G. and other download sites , Gamestop is slowly but surely phasing out the PC market and strictly sticking with the console platforms and games.

Alrik Fassbauer February 11th, 2011 23:47

That's interesting … Hoping that Germany remains so conservative regarding downloads … ;)

Couchpotato February 12th, 2011 00:42

I recall walking into stores and finding a whole wall for pcgames now I'm lucky to get a small shelf. It makes me cry and miss the old days.:bigcry:

JDR13 February 12th, 2011 01:47

Now if only it was that simple to get a retail copy of Drakensang: The River of Time

Alrik Fassbauer February 12th, 2011 14:28

The markets are just different, I guess …

Is it full English release or some Polish or Hungarian edition with subtitles and manual & cover in Hungarian or Polish?

shaf February 12th, 2011 17:35

The PC Games market may be changing in Canada since users are paying more for internet so streaming/downloading large files is going to cost more. The average monthly cap. is 65GB, if you're also watching movies online that doesn't leave a lot of room if each game is 4 - 6 GB.

coaster February 18th, 2011 12:31

Thank you Dark Savant for these links, I have ordered both Divinity 2 and the River of Time from www.freerecordshop.nl. The website was OK to navigate with a bit of help from google translate.

Dark Savant April 4th, 2011 21:31

So is Dutch edition completely in English, including case and manual? How thick is manual anyway? Price for DKS in round 20 pounds plus shipping at the moment in some Dutch online stores.
