FIXED the stuttering/slowdown in-game..

.. by upgrading my CPU from dual core to quad (i7 2600K). Not kidding.

I was getting incredible stuttering/slowdowns in-game before with or without the unofficial patch. Apparently the game just needs a faster processor. Either that or the 16GB DDR3 on my system is doing its thing. My display card is still the same (9800GTX+ 512MB) but I can now run the game maxed out with weather on (though there are occasional drops in FPS cause of weather, which was off by default for this reason I believe). I guess display card was not the cause of stuttering/slowdowns before.

So get more system ram and faster CPU to make buggy games run well. Lesson learned (oh hey look, running GTA4: Lost and the Damned pretty much maxed out too now). :P

*goes back to enjoying smooth Precursor gameplay*

Yeah I had the same experience (but with an i5). These games just don't take advantage of the GPU like they should.

Same with GTA4, which is not a good port.

Kind of an expensive fix, but I'm glad to hear you can play it now!
