Underrail - Title Screen Art

Dejan from Stygian Software writes the playable Underrail demo is "coming along nicely and shouldn’t be long now before it’s out" - but in the meantime, here's a piece of new art for the title screen.
More information.

Interesting, looking forward to this one. The graphics remind me of the Geneforge series.

Yup, I agree, and if you're going to imitate the look of a game, imitate a good looking game! I'm ready for the demo asap.

Haha, I feel the same way.

I also feel like I already played a demo of this, maybe combat only? I hope it's good.

Why? the graphics are simplistic in Geneforge but not that bad. If they are I can tolerate them because this open world rpg is brilliant:thumbsup:

This type of graphics is perfectly acceptable because it looks consistent which makes it look professional. I hate when some indie games mixes two or more art styles. Looking forward to try this..

Nevermind, a huge mispost!!

The graphics are really low quality, but if the gameplay is good, it won't matter much to me. He can improve them if the first game is successful. In games like these, it's the number of tilesets that's important.

Hi guys. Thanks for the positive feedback. :)

They also just said that it will be DRM free via Desura.

I never said that. Where'd you got that from?

Carnifex August 7th, 2012 18:29

Jokes aside graphics (and art direciton) in Underrail strike me as far better and more consistent than those of Geneforge.

QFT. I've been saying the same thing, basically. Consistency goes a long way with graphics and Underrail really has it. It doesn't matter if the graphics are simple as long as they are of the same style.
