Thunderscape party design, any suggestions?

I'm about to delve into Thunderscape, but I'm unfamiliar with the rule-system so it's hard to actually figure out what makes a party decent. So does anyone have any suggestions on how to make a party? Are there any skills that are just beginners traps (i.e. useless skills that I'll just waste skillpoints on), and roughly what is a good starting value for the different skills? From what I've been able to gather, DEX is the most important stat in the entire game, and characters that will have some non-combat skills require some int as well.

God only knows. It's one of those ancient SSI games that didn't make a memorable place in history simply by failing to be at least a bit above average.

Try to buy this if you didn't join the KS project when you could:

I don't remember if you can create a 6 person party in that game. If so, just use 4, because others will join your party, and the first two that do are quite powerful.

Too long since I played this. Just make sure you've got access to the redbook audio. IIRC, the music is the best part of the game.

As you don't remember all that much about this particular part of the game, then I take it that it is not overly picking about it? In that case, I'll just throw something together.
And I have the GOG version. Music seem to work just fine

Ah, thanks!
I did not give all of my characters spellcasting, so I guess I should restart. I'm about 15min in anyway, so it's not a big problem.
