The wooden watchtower reminds me of the fire towers back home. Still a watchtower but the stone one seems more appropriate to the content here.

Anyone who still knows Buster Keaton?

I'll say it again. We need space for an ads banner, 468x60.

Logo shouldn't encompass any ads… else it's a site FOR the ad and not a site WITH an ad…
|
I agree with drithius
|
If there are ads, who gives a shit if they're on top of the logo, really? The site in question is still hosting them, so…

It looks odd in my opinion and makes the logo ugly too. I would prefer the logo's base width to be shorter and then leave space for ads on the right, like the old GOG ad used to work. Having a stretched out logo with an ad in the middle looks odd to me. |

But it's hardly worth discussing. I'm pretty impartial since it's not my site and I don't feel entitled to make any kind of decision regarding its logo. |

Btw, I'm old enough to know who Buster Keaton was. Almost born in the same year as him. :D |

In the end Myrthos has the final say, but I like to think he reads comments and adjusts his decisions based on them. |
Yeah, but I'd rather he listens to those who really care :)

Hi guys, hope I'm not stepping on any toes but I thought I would throw my hat in the ring with a logo suggestion of my own. It's a first attempt and I'm sure it can be improved. Kept it one colour vector art so that it can be used in any colour scheme. This will make it easy to adapt to the different sub-sites and colour schemes. Also easy for printing on tshirts or mugs or anything else for that matter. Even if you don't go with my proposal I would recommend you go with a vector based artwork. Much easier to use in the long run.

Lemonhead, I think that's great. A professional-looking logo that can easily be used in the banner, and anywhere else.
