Console versions leaked

Should we be surprised? I'd say no:

Those tho shown their consolegame on twitch before the date it's set to be out, got instabanned ofc.

Weird. Wasn't there talk about a day 1 patch adding missing code to avoid this exact scenario from happening? Or was that only for the PC version and are the console versions playable out of the box in all territories?

joxer May 9th, 2015 04:09

Yes, there is day1 patch that unlocks the game - on PC.
On consoles, once bought the game is instantly playable. Why CDpr didn't do the same date lock on console versions, I dunno. Perhaps they thought only PC customers are "naughty"? :)

Since I don't want spoilers, won't be watching youtube for next 10 days.

Doesn't surprise me really.

Meh… there's always going to be a leak of some kind it seems.

Perhaps they trusted Sony and Microsoft with this or they said that they couldnt do the same kind of system on consoles.

Microsoft and Sony may have considered it some form of an update or patch and may want to charge for that in which case,,, fill in the blank.

Though as an alternative CD Project could have been less stupid about it and simply have made all early versions (not just the filthy leaking PC crowd /sarcasm) require the same CD Key which they release at the time the game is scheduled to be released. This CD Key could then have been used by the game to decrypt the file they've made critical, then the file would not have to be downloaded.

IE no downloading / internet requirement etc, you would just have to get this global key and off you go, they could even have put a nice little blank spot on those early retail boxes where people could write this global key / CD Key.

But I guess they didn't put the +-1 minute of thought into it that sleep deprived me just did.
