Bug Reporting--post here
Addressed:
> white arrow added to indicate currently active player in combat > enemies disappear now when killed > vector-based version with only one combat added to website. I'm hoping this fixes slowdowns, crashes some people experience. I tried to make the interface as functional as was practical, but a new player may get hung up on little things here and there that are explained in the rules on the website. So please READ the relevant rules on the website if you're feeling helpful and want to report bugs, THEN post any exploits, bugs and other bizarre happenings here. Known issues: >game slowdown >A duplicate entry sometime appears in equipped items inventory; it's strictly graphical, you cannot get extra items this way. |
I started the game and entered the first room and started the fight. I see creatures and moved to one of them but now there is nothin I can do. I read all the info but it seems like he is not attacking or that I don't get the actions buttons.
am I doing somethin wrong? |

First, I would like to congratulate you, screeg, with your project. It looks very promising and this quote from the game is quite humorous: "This is a shabby room frequented by creatures with dirty habits and worse manners." Second, I think I have a bug. When opening the coffins in the locked room on the right side of the corridor, then when my warrior, Pepe, bashes it open and I use the "Take all" button, then my character is moved to the room next to it with the four wooden tables. The same thing happens to a certain degree when I open the containers in the former kitchen. My character is moved to a nother position in the same room, when I use the "Take all" button. I have experienced another bug, I think. When I want to use Mysternior's Beam spell then the cursor disappears. Or is it just me that does someting wrong? |
Titus, you probably ran out of movement points and had to hit EndTurn to continue playing.
Asbjoern, the first bug was introduced by a last minute change to fix a different bug. I'll get on it. The spell cursor disappearing is an old one I thought was fixed, and I can't replicate it. |
Congrats on this accomplishment. It's giving me a great oldschool crpg vibe and I'm looking forward to more.
The demo is quite sluggish -- almost to the point of unplayable -- when I bring it up. But I can't be sure if that is my connection or some other factor. Is there any way I can offer helpful information in that regard? |
I've started designing a new version with all vector backgrounds for the dungeon and combat, instead of bitmaps. There's an online vector version which currently only has one room, the one with the Mantus. So far, everyone who has tried it found it works.
A more serious problem is that no one seems to want to learn how to play the game. I'm afraid the niche is maybe a little too small. On my side, progress right now is going slowly. |
Hello again!!
Also talked about bugs in the Wazzat thread. I'll get it all right the next time. ---- The game played at a decent speed . The mouse cursor was sluggish but I can live with that. And it's like I said : When I arrived at the bat cave, it slowed down… Hope everything I said, in my feedback post helps. Congrats on a very promissing game. I like it very much. Graphs were nice. Much better than some other indies out there… Keep up the good work and give us more as soon as you can. |
Feedback
(first off, you ask how well it starts running…well it started okay for me, but I had to use Internet Explorer. Damn you to eternal…damnation.)
Font's too small/screwey/ugly. Output line jerks around. Sidenote: "Inventory" is not synonnomous to "char page" or whatever you want to call it. On this note, but digging a wee little into gameplay rather than just display - merely accessing and/or viewing your inventory shouldn't cost action points in my opinion. *cue debate regarding whether it is the PC who's taking a peek at the inventory or just the P* (Hah, hey, in classic table-top gaming, you don't get punished for glimpsing at your character page) |
