Suggestions --Post Here
Since this is a one-man project, I doubt I'll be able to take into account any but the simplest or wisest suggestions. Don't let that slow you down though!

Not bad. I tried out one combat and noticed one glaring problem for me. It would be VERY helpful to render some sort of indicator around whose turn it is.
Otherwise, someone not familiar with PC names and appearance (which I'm not, yet) won't know which figure is ready to go and might move them the wrong way. A colored box would be plenty. |
Click on a pc or enemy to find out who he is.
There is also a combat queue popup available for the curious. During combat a row of tiny silvery buttons appear in a vertical row to the left of the combat screen. Check them out. I use pop-ups to conserve screen space instead of just having them display constantly. |
Back when someone suggested a gladiator/arena fighting type RPG-ish game on home of the underdogs I suggested that one could make certain non-fatal injuries "stick" with the NPC. Battle scars that would have minor permanent effects and give flavour to the characters, sort of. It would be a tricky thing to balance tho…

Pirates of the Western Sea had critical injuries, like losing an eye or a hand (or even your whole arm), which would cause varying penalties until they were fixed with a high level healing spell.

My first suggestion would be to work on a downloadable version. As it is, I have to wrestle against a huge mouse lag when playing the demo. I tried both versions.
