If I ever move to USA (which is not very likely) then I'd want to live wherever Justified or Longmire take place. The third option was Frozen River area, but while I like such people too, it'd be too cold for me. :(

Thrasher February 21st, 2017 20:33

Yes, as I said before I have the crafting bags. I hate the idea of buying more character slots (about $20 ea) just for mules and the in game gold cost of about 180k each to max their inventories plus the slow grind of daily horse saddlebag upgrades. Irritating as fuck, but will probably have to waste more money on this trash.

Quote:

60 to 70 bag slots cost 400 gold
70 to 80 bag slots cost 2,000 gold
80 to 90 bag slots cost 5,900 gold
90 to 100 bag slots cost 11,900 gold
100 to 110 bag slots cost 19,200 gold
110 to 120 bag slots cost 30,700 gold
120 to 130 bag slots cost 46,000 gold
130 to 140 bag slots cost 64,500 gold

Well, it seems pretty shallow overall, so I don't think I'll play long enough to worry about it. I did buy a 3-month plus membership as I see playing it for a few months perhaps.

Thrasher February 21st, 2017 22:40

As a single player experience it is definitely shallow. With other players is where it gets deeper (except for maelstrom arena).

crpgnut February 21st, 2017 23:35

Yeah, I just don't do other people well. I heal others if they're hurt or kill their monsters if they're surrounded, but other than that I ignore them. I sometimes get notifications but I've got that invisible most of the time. Who knows? If I get really bored I can turn on the chat and sell all these stupid furniture recipes I keep finding….

crpgnut February 22nd, 2017 04:10

Goodness! I went to Orsinium and I'm fighting Giants and Polar Bears and such and they must be levels higher than I am. I keep running into things with over 100k hit points. I get quite a bit of xp when I win, but the battles are something else.

azarhal February 22nd, 2017 18:32

Morrowind expac "gameplay" trailer.

crpgnut February 22nd, 2017 18:51

Looks decent, azarhal.

Last night I ran into the possible killer of ESO for me. I played for 4 hours and found one chest in the whole time that hadn't already been looted. 3 times I was fighting a monster guarding a chest when someone else looted it while I killed the creature. Those chests should only be open-able by someone who has done a certain percentage of damage to the guardians. Loot stealing is something I never deal with in SP and since it can take 20 minutes for a chest to respawn, you can't just wait a few seconds to get your share.

Thrasher February 22nd, 2017 19:47

That's real assholery there. Try to shame asshats like that in zone chat.

crpgnut February 22nd, 2017 21:06

lol, I don't even know how to chat :) I assume you just type in the same box where I adjust my addons? For instance, I type /FTC and that gets me to the addon area. Do you type something like /z "type stuff"?

What I did learn last night is that the Ebonheart area has the closest look to Skyrim. I started a Dark Elf Templar lady. I did make a couple dumb mistakes last night. I deleted all my other characters and some of those I had bought bags for. I should have kept them as mules, but I hate a cluttered start page :D

I also learned you can't make a Dunmer babe. They're all ugly as sin. I want someone good with fire magic though, and dark elves should be decent. Not going to be as powerful as a Altmer, but that's okay. I'm not trying to be uber, just play through the quests….

I've got 5 days off to really get into it after this Friday.

JDR13 February 22nd, 2017 21:37

Shocking to see that crpgnut found a TES game that he doesn't like. ;)

I'm the same way though. I love a good single-player RPG, but I just don't care for MMORPGs.

crpgnut February 22nd, 2017 21:52

Well, I love Skyrim but I have a hard time going back to any of the earlier games. I loved them back in the day, but the day has long past ;)

I don't hate ESO, but I'm not totally sold on it either. I played Path of Exile for a while and this feels somewhat similar with WAY less loot. My 5-day mini vacation will give me a good feel for the game. Finding empty loot containers after fighting is major buzz kill though. Why don't they put the loot on the corpses? Whoever starts a fight and/or does the most damage gets the loot. This should work for loot too.

Two great followups to this. Last night I must have opened 10 chests, so I got lots of low level loot :) Also, ran into another chest stealer last night. I killed the monster and the same chick from the other day went to loot the chest while I was busy. However, this time I stayed by the chest because it was master locked. I stood right on top of it and waited for the person to fail the pick. Once they did, I clicked it and got all the loot :) With all the hours I've played Oblivion, I'm a master lock picker on that mini game…BTW, it wasn't anything better than the loot in a simple-locked chest. I was a little disappointed with that part of it.

Ah finally you are discovering the real joys of playing MMO! Your previous encounter with the loot thief was leading up to this sweet and delicious moment where you got one up over her. Revenge is dish best served cold! You need to encounter the "lows" to truly appreciate the "highs" and this what people miss when they complain about kill stealing, loot stealing etc. This is what make the MMO experience different from single player experience.

Welcome to the dark side brother!

crpgnut February 23rd, 2017 21:12

I assume it was a dude. I play a female too, as I prefer to stare at a gal's ass all day, rather than a guy's. ;)

Yeah, it was nice that the same person seems to be almost following me around. I assume this is because we're in the first area and the quests are almost 100% linear…

Jaz February 25th, 2017 15:38

I just mothballed my highest-level female ESO char, so currently all my active chars are male. And more attractive.

crpgnut March 5th, 2017 04:45

Well, the game should be called Elder Scrolls Offline. It has been down most of the day today and then it'll be down for several hours Monday too. I'm regretting the 90-day subscription. This game feels like it should be in beta.

Must have been while I was sleeping, or not been affecting EU. I could play all morning and when I returned this afternoon, all was still well :-/.

Carnifex March 5th, 2017 19:16

We'll take your tired, huddled masses yearning to be free at Everquest Two =). At least the servers are usually up and functional =p

Jaz March 5th, 2017 20:58

I'm still online playing, so you might as well come to the EU server ^^.
