TW3 pwns The Game Awards 2015

http://thegameawards.com/nominees/

TW3 got GOTY, leaving behind Fallout 4 and MGS5 plus two games I can't even understand how on earth those got nominated - Bloodborne (WTF) and Super Mario Maker.
It's no surprise the insult on PC, Batman: Arkham Knight, wasn't nominated although I've honestly expected to see some other games like AC: Syndicate on the list of nominees (they both did get nominated in action/adventure category, but MGS5 wiped the floor with them, and IMO well deserved).

CDpr also got Developer of the Year award.

The best soundtrack went to MGS5. Dunno how and why, it's a good one but compared to TW3 and AC:Rogue brilliant soundtracks, I'd never put the crown on MGS5. Probably a matter of (mine or their shit)taste or a category "just because" - as AC:Rogue wasn't even nominated.

The best roleplaying game is not crowned yet, nominated are Undertale (never heard of), Bloodborne (wait, since when it's RPG?), Fallout4, Pillars of Eternity and TW3.
Also best shooter is on "wait", I dropped of my chair seeing the garbage Destiny among nominees as it probably belongs only to "hype of the year" category - if such existed.

Among fan's choice for most anticipated game are 4 titles I haven't heard of and No Man's Sky. For whatever reason, nominated seem to be mostly console crapware. Can't explain that among them are not DX:MD or ME4.

what the fuck is failout doing in those categories rofl, anyway glad it didnt won shit

joxer December 4th, 2015 16:17

I'm not glad. It's a great game. Not saying it's better than TW3, IMO it's not, but that's just me.

But if it got released in 2014., DA3 would not be smuggled everywhere as RPG of the year instead of Grinder of the year. And FO4 would won everywhere. Ah well…

Never heard of these guys. Do we care who won? To me, the company that wins is the company that gets the most sales. That's always the bottom line. You can win 5000 awards but if your game didn't pay for itself commercially, you're still out of business and can't make a sequel. I don't think we have to worry about F4 or W3 when it comes to that.

joxer December 4th, 2015 17:09

Did we ever care for that anywhere?
We care who - lost.

crpgnut December 4th, 2015 17:12

I only care if it means a game I love doesn't get a sequel. That would suck. These game of the year things are always moronic. Most of the "writers" are folks who don't actually earn a living and could make more being employed full-time at McDonalds.

joxer December 4th, 2015 17:38

I believe most of those writers are those who were overhyped into Destiny and are currently playing other repetitive titles because to them, not having a diversity is fun.

What can you expect from them except voting for shiny packages and who cares for the actual content.

We won't know the true winner until "Joxer's game awards" comes out, with the Best Grinder and worst console port category. ;)
Hopefully Witcher's success will lead to Marcin getting better socks in the future. :P

LOL
Best grinder would be impossible to crown, there are so many of grinders at the market it feels you just need to close your eye point a finger and it'll be grinder under it. How to choose just one straw from a haystack?

Worst consoleport is easy to pick - Batman: Arkham Knight.
Usually ports like Neptunia insult the audience with joystick garbage poking in the eye of the player, but Arkham Knight went further and was so broken and buggy, on PC virtually unplayable.

The entries had to be in by Nov 23rd, so some of the later games had no chance. The voting has been going on for months, so it is stacked in favor of early-mid year releases.
