One of the greatest games of all time.
Have my doubts about getting value for your money on the upcoming enhanced edition but we'll see I suppose.

Silver April 20th, 2017 00:43

At least Blizzard see the value of having both old and new versions available to the public separately. A classy move.

Well they can always kill the classic later on via battlenet; I think this is more of free advertising for the new version.

JDR13 April 20th, 2017 02:11

StarCraft is one of the few RTS games to have a great single-player campaign to go along with great multiplayer gameplay. I found the campaign in SC2 very disappointing by comparison.

purpleblob April 20th, 2017 02:21

Well, I've got my free copy now, wewt :D Time to test my friend's theory of "it's in your blood to love SC".

Carnifex April 20th, 2017 04:20

This is really free? Like, no online junk or account information required? If so I'd be amazed.

Best RTS I've ever played

Which other version? SCR is not free.

beldurax April 20th, 2017 16:02

RTS = :thumbsdown:

Nothing like StarCraft/RedAlert LAN parties back in early 2000s :)

SC:BW is now free and it will be left free = version one (or old version)
SCR is not going to be free = version two (or new version)

Unlike how Beamdog does it, SCR will not replace SC:BW.

luj1 April 20th, 2017 23:02

The most amazing thing is that its backward compatible.

We can play the same game, I can play with BW , you can play with SCR

Or you can play SCR, I can cast/observe using BW and vice-versa
