Thaw me out when it hits the shelves.

I am convinced after this video that this game will be the game of forever.

Morrandir May 19th, 2017 13:03

*sigh* Why are people doing videos? I want to read.

Sounds a bit too good to be true, but man if it delivers? Pondsmith's impressions so far, at least, seem super positive.

Pondsmith is positive about everything, you should read his blog…

So very much this. Started watching but…an hour? Gave up after a couple of minutes. Transcripted that hour would probably take less than 10 minutes to read…

Nah it wouldnt, he goes through 20-30 articles in that one hour.

Well yeah, but if he can speak it all in an hour I can guarantee it's readable in ten. Or is there text in there too which you have to pause for? (He mentioned something about pausing.) If that's the case then 10 minutes might be a bit on the low end.

Even if someone talks non stop you can still read at least 3-4 times as fast, probably more.

Oh you are talking about reading it fast. Yeah, I guess you can do that. You probably wont remember any of it once you are done though.

You mean speed reading, or skimming? No, I actually meant normal reading. Don't you find yourself getting way ahead of the voice overs in all the games you play if there are subtitles? You read a full sentence in the same time the voice over speaks one or maybe two words? I'm pretty sure must people read alot faster than they talk.

Could be the game is closer to done, than expected.

purpleblob May 26th, 2017 12:37

Would be good if it is almost done but kinda wish they will release a new video/info, it's always the same trailer :P

Reread it carefully. Surprise factor is not the release date. It's a surprise factor - it can't be the date as it wouldn't be a surprise after such statement.

Then again, maybe I'm wrong and not the target of this PR.

It all depends on what this "promotional campaign" really means.

Likely won't be until late 2018 at least. Focusing on buzz about GWENT at the moment.

zahratustra May 28th, 2017 20:55

Talking about Gwent… The more I see of it the less i like it. The original game was a nice and easy casual time waster but this one feels like work! I was hoping for a game where, like chess or go, it only takes about an hour to learn the basics and then you master it at your own peace. But it sure doesn't look this way!

azarhal June 8th, 2017 17:48

I'm not sure if I should be laughing or feeling sad about this.

Anyway, looks like we are going to get "old" Cyberpunk 2017 design information soon…

NewDArt June 8th, 2017 17:49

I really couldn't care less about old documents that might very well be completely out of date.

Except, of course, if there are signs that they've learned how to do open world exploration - which would go a long way to get me hyped about this game.

Still can't quite handle differing opinions, but there's improvement. Good on you ;)

No worries man… you can get your exploration ecstasy from finding goofy dungeons and collecting teddy bears, somewhere else, I'm sure. ;)

You never know!

BoboTheMighty June 8th, 2017 19:42

Well my gut tells me with this sort of thing, you can count on Russians having a hand in it.
Who are the suspects here on Watch? :police:

Guess this at least belongs here -- maybe in NEWS also

Witcher studio latest target of growing cyber-ransom threat

The demand to move money around anonymously on the internet is so strong that it has led to the creation and adoption of the viable, non-governmental cryptocurrency bitcoin. That sounds like a plotline from a game called Cyberpunk 2077, but it’s real, and it may have enabled an attack against the developer of Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt Red revealed today that an individual or a group is attempting to hold some of the studio’s internal data for ransom. The threat involves older material related to the development of the upcoming futuristic role-playing adventure Cyberpunk 2077, which CD Projekt Red first announced in January 2013. The alleged perpetrator is asking for money in exchange for not releasing the data to the public. CD Projekt Red has said it will not comply with the demands, and it has informed law enforcement. But the company is also warning fans that any leaks that may come out about Cyberpunk 2077 are “largely unrepresentative of the current vision for the game.”

You can read the rest along with CDPR's full Tweeter response at the above link.

TLDR: Mostly going on background and the setting but Mike did confirm roles will be in the game.
