Shortest Trip to Earth - FTL like game

@RockPaperShotgun Shortest Trip to Earth is on IndieGoGo at the moment seeking $35,000 and is described as an FTL like game.

You deck out a ship with different modules, move your crew about to man different sections, explore far-flung planets and battle alien craft in real-time. The aim is to get to Earth by surviving 10 space sectors, refuelling and collecting valuable resources as you go. It doesn't have the same polish as FTL (not yet, anyway), but watching your crew scamper between their stations is satisfying. What impressed me the most was the writing and the number of individual stories it throws up as you explore.

FTL = Faster Than Light

Aka the speed necessary to make space travel between the stars a possibility. Also the name of an interesting roguelike game you should check out. If your into that sort of thing that is.

Thanks - wasn't sure if it was that or referring to a game … but I guess it was both :)

FTL was a great game, but I prefer turnbased. Would especially be nice with a new "inspired by" game like this if they mixed it up a bit.

Wow… just wow. I'm not certain if I should be thrilled or depressed by the state of Western civilization when I see things like this.

Erm… I didn't mean the milking part of that pic. But dice.

That's a really odd product. I can't imagine there is really that much of an overlap between Fallout fans and Yahtzee fans.

But back on topic, yeah FTL is an amazing game, possibly my favorite game of the year it was produced. Since then I've played many other games that claim to be like FTL, but none of them were every anywhere close to being as good.

Horrible GUI. Super microscopic "astronauts". No Turn Based.. AvoidWare.
