Cyberpunk 2077 - E3 Trailer
Cyberpunk 2077 got a good looking trailer at E3.

Looks great! I wonder how much we'll have to wait for actual gameplay. But it looks very promising. I has real attitude.
|
Idk. I'm pretty disappointed that there wasn't even a snippet of actual gameplay footage after all this time.

But yeah, gameplay would've been awesome. What surprised me was that there was no one from CDPR on the Xbox stage, to set things up. I'd have expected at least that. Quote:

I am pretty sure I saw the default commander Shepard in there somewhere …
Otherwise: yeah, nice. Gameplay pleaaseee. |
Lovely to get more of a feel for the setting even if we still lack gameplay.
Also video is so fast that it's hard to catch all the information shown so here's a single frame. https://i.redd.it/c9st97pbv8311.png |
They showed a lot, in brief minute or two.
One, they absolutely nailed the setting, in feel and aesthetics: 2020 is not Bladerunner or Deus Ex, it's far more vibrant, that urban opera feel. Think Vampire Bloodlines on steroids. :P But yeah, I was really hoping for some gameplay. Big question? Is it only male character? https://www.cyberpunk.net/img/4b1d76…e-corner.4.jpg This looks like a female protagonist. Is there char creation? Like in Mass Effect? |

I guess…
no game play no release date… |
Looks more like some cheap unambitious movie than a computer game to me. Perhaps the actual game will wow me.
|
my interest now after 7 years so almost nothing for this game after seeing that.
|
All aboard the hype train!
I hope this video is really gameplay footage. If you enter www.cyberpunk.net it seems that way. Looks like it is going to be a Witcher 3 quality on a cyberpunk game. Great. |
Woot woot, the hype is real. I don't mind the lack of gameplay since this is clearly the intended look for the end product. That retro-80's vibe is still pretty in vogue right now but they shouldn't wait too much longer as 90's nostalgia is right around the corner.
One concern is that it's more ambitious than Witcher 3, a game that already pushed the bar up and I hope they're not biting off more than they can chew. A lot about Witcher worked because they could weave the story around Geralt as a central protagonist, that gets trickier when you gotta take into account if the main character is a glam rocker, hacker or corporate climber, etc. |

I personally found the trailer "meh". Yes, it shows Cyberpunk 2020 very well, but it also feels very much like GTA with a futuristic skin and a white male preset protagonist even if the hidden text says otherwise. Now to wait for Tuesday for more info. |

It states "game engine footage" clearly. Hell, just look at that hair! https://s33.postimg.cc/9nqge6qxr/pic.jpg Oh, you're talking about no dark souls grinding footage? Bleh. You can see that in every other trailer engine, so please. |
Hmm, going by the official website the playable character is called V

It'll probably be like in Mass Effect, you are someone called 'V' but you can fully customize him/her in appearance, gender and class.

No Mako = no Mass Effect. |
Well, we found out what they sunk a hundred million dollars into.. Artistically it has okayish art direction. They FKD UP real contrast with that new engine sporting overly "realistic lighting" and the PBR crap. Has nice characters and the camera work, action / story direction feels to be on par with Mass Effect 1-3. Lots of scenes shown is reassuring. Imagine the tonnes of insane amount of work put into this game by 200+ developers. At least it has quality, so they didn't burn all that money. :D

Looks great, I'm definately interested in it.
So a futuristic witcher type game:) |
Got to love all the hidden things they do.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Cyberpunk/c…adra_password/ Will be interesting to see what reward people get or if the feds come and kick down their door. :) |
Looks good, i like that they seem to be doing the 80's neon vision of the future - proper Cyberpunk..
|
Love sci-fi… Love CDPR. Cannot wait for this game.
|
Seems like the "hidden" text from the trailer hasn't been mentioned here yet…
https://www.polygon.com/e3/2018/6/10…er-hidden-text Judging from what's there, it sounds like this game is still a long ways off. |
Looks great!

Also, more stuff is coming Tuesday (on Geoff Keighley's E3 Coliseum show), they had gk_wip under the e3_trailer on the xbox conference "hacking". lol. |
Mildly interested, but if the game is exclusively multiplayer i.e, MMO, then I'm out.

Looking forward to watching some gameplay footage next. |
I'll play it eventually regardless, but I just hope it has better character development (stats, etc., not storywise) than The Witcher 3.

Still, I'd take this with a grain of pepper. |
That was definitely in-engine footage. You can see some disappearing NPCs and LoD popping in towards the end. Looks great to me and it's kinda weird to read online about people being so stuck up on what cyberpunk is "supposed to look like".

I'm happy with it. The grimy inner city aesthetic in Cyberpunk is overused.
|
Love that message from the trailer.
|
Not sure why people complain it's bright etc (how else does something look on a sunny day?) are they clueless as to what open world RPG's are these days? That they e.g have weather and day/night systems? I'm sure the game will have rain, fog and dark nights.
