And that's even more likely considering that there're still looking to hire about 60 people to work on this game (https://en.cdprojektred.com/jobs/), which they wouldn't need just to help with further patches.

What makes it even worse is that she's wearing Crocs. :)

Lolozaur February 18th, 2022 11:09

Those are bareable for me, more annoying is teleporting npcs even in scripted scenes lol. Cars also sometimes dissapear if you turn around for a second but that happens in gta games as well, so no idea if its a glitch. I played a bit til i got all the city available, doesnt seem to me they fixed anything about the AI or traffic.
Also in the UI still the mouse doesnt work in some menus or sometimes i click something in the invetory or a quest and it opens the map or journal lol.
Im replaying now with the female but looks like i made a mistake, the voice is so annoying.

edit special bike

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.52 Released

Patch 1.52 for Cyberpunk 2077 is being rolled out and will soon be available accross all platforms! Here's the list of changes for this update.
Fans Left Wondering If the Game's Still Getting Two Expansions

Link - https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2022…two-expansions
Quote:

When the brand new Witcher game was announced yesterday — developed using Unreal Engine 5 — CD Projekt Red also clarified that Cyberpunk 2077's upcoming expansion will still use the studio's in-house REDengine. However, the company's statement on the matter has raised some eyebrows because of its use of "expansion" rather than "expansions".

So yeah, it's a bit weird that CDPR is specifying 'expansion' rather than 'expansions'. We're sure all will become clear in the relatively near future, but in the meantime, we've reached out to CDPR for clarification. We'll update this article if we hear anything back.

bjon045 March 23rd, 2022 08:50

It kind of makes sense for there to be only one expansion if sales were less than expected. The more expansions/dlc that get released the lower the audiance typically for each subsequent release i.e. someone who bought expansion 1 may not buy expansion 2 and at the same time it is very unlikely someone who decided to never buy expansion 1 would buy expansion 2.

Philistine March 23rd, 2022 12:29

I seem to remember a press release saying they wanted to see how much money was rolling in after the first exp, to see if doing another was worth it.

Lolozaur March 23rd, 2022 14:06

Something with the blue eyes dude would be interesting or at least blackwall related

ilm March 23rd, 2022 22:57

Public opinion is clearly turning around on this one, which is very hard to do. It might make sense for them to make multiple DLCs.

My personal public opinion (as someone who bought the game at release and liked it well enough) is that they've done almost nothing in a year and a half since and I'm tired of waiting for them to do something.

vanedor March 23rd, 2022 23:33

The last patch has been pretty large.

The changes they've made are all what I would consider to be small changes (like spawning police cars further away, or changing the minimap so it's not so zoomed in) or things I don't care about and that don't effect the actual gameplay (like having more apartments). All of the FLC have been cosmetic. The Witcher 3 had several quests added in the month or two after launch. Absolutely nothing like that for Cyberpunk.

My faith in CDPR was very high going into Cyberpunk's release and that's not the case now. I don't know if CDPR is even CDPR anymore… a lot of the creatives what drove the success of games like The Witcher 3 are gone now. It's sad to me that I don't have high hopes for the eventual expansion for Cyberpunk or, by extension, a new Witcher game. I hope they get back on track in a big way.

CD Projekt's new Witcher game director speaks out on crunch

Well, unless you don't know the Crunch choco bar :)

JDR13 March 24th, 2022 19:38

The patches have absolutely affected gameplay in a positive way. I'm not sure how anyone could claim otherwise. The AI is significantly better now than it was at release.

Of course that doesn't change the fact that it was released too early and that, while still a good game in its own right, is a disappointment compared to the prerelease hype.

I know what crunch is (in the game dev sense) and I knew that's what you were referring to, but I don't know how it relates to my post. :)

I like Nestle crunch bars but I stopped buying them from my local convenience store because they sometimes they're stale and stale Nestle crunch bars are the devil.

Yeah, my fault here :)

I actually should have quoted only your 2nd paragraph above (instead of quoting the whole comment), particularly this part

"(…) I don't know if CDPR is even CDPR anymore… a lot of the creatives what drove the success of games like The Witcher 3 are gone now.."

And only then I should have put the Nestle Crunch picture.

Of course part of those CDPR defections are due to the crunch imposed to employees. I know this thread is about CP2077 news instead of discussing the bad corporate practices, and CouchPotato would kill me if I derailed his thread, so I'll avoid further comments on this subject.

Maybe I've clarified things a little more now.

I've been playing this for the last few months - picked up on holiday sale. My expectations were low, but it is a pretty remarkable work of gaming art. The big patch dropped in the middle of my first play-thru. I noticed many new things they implemented and agree they were positive and improved the game play.

Totally agree, the implementations were significant and can really be felt. Except for me, the patch dropped when I haven't even started it. I bought CP77 on launch and never really played it because of the news about bugs.

I bought it for PS4, and while waiting I was able to get a Series X. Gave the PS4 copy to a friend then got an Xbox One game copy. Still waited. Patch 1.5 came out and started playing. Finished it already but I'm now on my second run on very hard difficulty. It's so enjoyable.

Hope they release the first major DLC soon, I'd love to play more of it. :D (and maybe include a different ending - won't post spoilers but for those who finished it, you know what I'm taking about hehe).

Cyberpunk 2077's 2023 Expansion Is Likely Its First And Last

Link - https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultas…h=36ca604f595f
Quote:

This week, CDPR gave a few updates about Cyberpunk 2077, namely that it had sold 18 million copies, and that its long-gestating first major expansion would be…gestating a little longer, and would not be released until 2023.

That’s quite the gap, given that Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020, and we’ll have to assume that the earliest we’d see the expansion in 2023 is some time in the spring. In contrast, The Witcher 3 had both massive expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, out within its first year. Obviously, Cyberpunk had a lot more problems that needed fixing but yeah, it’s a long wait. And I believe that this expansion may be the first and last the game gets.

Yes, I know that there have been rumblings about at least two expansions for Cyberpunk in the past, including data buried in the game’s code that indicate as much. But plans change, and I do believe…plans have changed here. Why? A few reasons.
Cyberpunk 2077 expansion is coming in 2023

Link - https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-20…oming-in-2023/
Quote:

"We are fully committed to the Cyberpunk franchise, and intend to develop it further," CD Projekt joint CEO Adam Kicinski said.

"We've recently released a new set of improvements for Cyberpunk, and we are also working on the next update, 1.6, which will be out in the coming months. Afterwards, support for Cyberpunk will continue, but our focus will gradually shift to the new, exciting endeavors in both Cyberpunk and The Witcher franchises.

Right now, the bulk of our team is working on the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion that is targeted to be released in 2023."

Kicinski said in a Q&A session that the recent delay of The Witcher 3's next-gen update was not a factor in the timeline: "Not many" developers are required to finish the job, and taking over the project "will not affect the development" of other work. Unfortunately, he declined to be more specific about when in 2023 the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion might show up, but more details are expected to be revealed later this year.

danutz_plusplus April 17th, 2022 17:03

Yeah, it sounds to me like the first and only expansion will likely contain a lot of stuff that were originally planned for the game and likely part-way implemented, but cut due to needing to push it out. Plus, likely and hopefully, fixes and improvements to the current systems.

So it kind of seems they're cutting their losses and moving on to Unreal Engine. This is a bit of a fay cry from the amazing expansions they delivered with the Witcher.

Anyway, I hope they manage to add as much story content to the game as possible, and make the final version as close to what they initially planned as possible.

And I hope UE5 gives them a better developement experience, and allows them to focus on the world/story/design/mechanics and not on the plumbing/infrastructure. I also hope they keep their games as ambitios as they have been, especially since it will likely be an easier road this time. Probably not for the first game they develop using UE, but for the following ones. This'll also let them access a bigger employee pool, since people can likely come onboard with already established experience in UE.

All the best to them.

Couchpotato April 17th, 2022 18:34

Look on the bright side they all but confirmed Cyberpunk 2. Which will probably use the Unreal Engine and release sometime after 2030 at the latest. The Witcher saga is next.

Kos April 17th, 2022 23:29

Just for the fun, did they talk about the MP part of CP2077? That promised possibility who had all the SP lovers afraid before release. They are seriously challenging for the BS award in terms of schedules and features.

There is no bright side when you need 3 years to publish an extension :)
Those guys can't manage correcting bugs and working on an extension without pushing aside the inclusion of a mod, working already perfectly well and finished, in a 7 years old game. CEO says no link but that guy has no credibility.

I seriously doubt this company has the capacity to work on 2 AAA projects at the same time (Witcher + CP) without going again in total disaster mode.

GothicGothicness April 18th, 2022 21:02

It might be easier to work on 2 AAA games, instead of one AAA game and one AAA engine… it most probably is.
