More information.

Nice screenshots but still no game-play videos yet so meh.:bored:

Starting to think they started the hype train to early.

ChienAboyeur August 22nd, 2018 12:31

Breathing diversity. So much.

What's the problem with that? It's a classic urban SF setting.

I only see guys with orange/red vision augmentations. Why aren't there any green or blue ones?

joxer August 22nd, 2018 13:54

Because it would look too much ME3 ending. ;)

Its the setting and I'm glad they are being faithful to it. If they include outright propaganda rather than allegory then I'll have something to say.

Yeah, the game reflects more the Cyberpunk setting than your own political idea.

They probably would not even feel sorry about it since Cyberpunk has been created by a black guy.

A black geek who likes to dress like a biker.
His game could not be not diverse!

BoboTheMighty August 22nd, 2018 19:29

Looks intense. Reminds me of Far Cry's dialogue camera, but that is 100% scripted. If they pull it off, with player control and good dialogue flow, this could make "old system" seem obsolete.
One of their designers mentioned it will be timing based, so you'll have to "read" on your own, who to engage with and when, aim to give it more dramatic, dynamic feel.

Yeah so like Alpha Protocol then. Some gamers will not like that.

I liked the dialogue in AP, but it was badly implemented. You had every line of dialogue on the same timer and it didn't really had any impact ( so you always picked the same line that you roleplay "on").
This seems more intuitive and more used in dramatic situation. Closest thing I've seen this is in Oxenfree.

That is because it is based on historical Poland.

axellslade August 22nd, 2018 20:33

You guys sure those are new? I think I saw them somewhere, not sure where though…
That, or my memories are crap.

JDR13 August 22nd, 2018 21:34

Why are they calling those screenshots when it's obvious most of that is artwork?

They look very much like screenshots to me. They look rendered, and not drawn. They do look very impressive. I hope they're able to keep that level of quality.

Here's some real artwork from them.

JDR13 August 22nd, 2018 21:52

Yeah, I clicked on the wrong link. The first link in that sentence takes you to concept art while the second link takes you to the screenshots.

I wish you would give it a rest. Forever, ideally, but at least for one second would be nice too. Have you been to Los Angeles, btw? (aka the most direct inspiration for Night City)

Got to wonder if CP2077 character creation system will support the creation of characters with skin complexion of that guy.

Better not to be another ME3 like scandal.

It won't support it.
That decision will generate all kind of political correctness bs which will advertise the game everywhere and not only in gaming media and it'll net more sales than predicted.
Then a modder (paid to release a "mod" developed already by CDpr) will make it possible.

Win-win.

ChienAboyeur August 23rd, 2018 13:01

And loss loss.

Well he's black, that's a pretty common color of skin… Altough, he's also a geek, who doesn't sees the sun much, so maybe more grey?

Cyberpunk is a universe where you can manipulate and change your skin color(s) at will with implants, I don't think there will be a lack of "diversity" in that regard. Rejoice?

What was the scandal again? I don't follow much all the dramas surrounding games…

Myrthos August 23rd, 2018 18:45

From the looks of it, you can create black people.

ChienAboyeur August 24th, 2018 17:50

Just as in ME3, you could create white characters.

Politically driven ME3 did not allow to create characters as white as white people can be.
It was a scandal.

It will be equally embarassing if CP 2077 do not allow to create characterss as black as black people can be.

There will be nothing embarrasing for CDpr. They're not you and for all I know they care about game quality and art. Not irrelevant cosmetics.

I mean, do you seriously believe artists were ever embarrased only because some anonymous spams about whatnot like skincolor? Artists. Actual artists. Not contracted hitmen and not Oscar hirelings.

A reminder for all sjw and sjw wannabees. This is art:

What world do you live in?

ME3 scandals were:
- coutout and sold separately story critical crewmember
- DLC based war assets that punished gamers who didn't want to touch stupid multiplayer not buy overpriced DLC
- Bioware Points
- red, green, blue ending

There was no skincolor scandal. If such thing existed here where I live, I'd question my sanity and would move to another country.

I would love to watch you implode if a game came out in which you could only be dark-skinned. I'm sure you wouldn't be calling skin color "irrelevant cosmetics" then.

Being a racist (which you are) does not equate with having an enlightened worldview, no matter how thoroughly you've convinced yourself.

ROTFL

Another codexian?
Just to kick the amateurish trolling knife away from your hand - I've completed WD2, praised it and suggested buying it asap on this very forum plenty of times. Guess what? The protagonist is black. But even if he wasn't, I'd still love the game as it's the game quality that matters to me, not skincolor. Just as in RL. It's the personality I care about, the character, not the skin.

As before. Insulting me directly based on whatever prejudice, knowing nothing about me and before cleaning your porch first means only one thing. You're going to my ignorelist.
Have fun in that company. :)

Not that you'll see this post, but that's rich, calling me a "Codexian"… I assume you're referring to RPGCodex, where tons of people just like yourself hang out. Adopting the Trumpian rhetorical strategy of "I know you are but what am I?" is about what I'd expect from you.

It will be as irrelevant as it was.
They do not care about game quality as they do not care about gameplay.
They care about story though which means the issue is not cosmetic.

It will be as a scandal as it was.
