Settlers 25th Anniversary Collection - Announced
 

@Indie Retro News Settlers 25th Anniversary Collection has been announced and will feature a re-release of all Settlers games.

i loved Settlers 1 and 2 on the Amiga, and played # on the PC.

I have fond memories of these games, but I'm not installing Ubijunk simply to replay them. No thanks.

I loved The Settlers 3 and played it a great deal ! I remember upgrading my GPU when Settlers 4 came out and I was unimpressed!

Uplay works fine for me. Never spent a dime there, though. All games came as free codes.

Yes, that's how the box of the first game looked like.
One gaming magazine had audio tracks of the main themes of many games on their magazine's CD, and one of them had The Settler's very first theme …
Of course, no gaming magazine won't do that today. A) because of copyright issues, b) because of streaming c) because if a magazine did it, that would soon be forbidden, and the publisher would jump in and want to do that instead to ensure more profits …

Don't forget that at that time also audio was directly saved as cd tracks. One example would be Dungeon Keeper.

But I also remember that Settlers 2 had at least it's intro song as audio track on cd. One of the most amazing tracks of any intro (at least if you like that kind of evangelis style music)

Me and my buddy played Settlers I to death. II was also pretty good. It went downhill from there imo.

Today this is not my genre anymore.

I saw it today on the Games Com, wanted to come back later and play Settlers 1, but forgot it.

The web site says now that this collection is "exclusive to UPlay".
And that the games can be bought individually, too.
