Exactly my point.

quests, new LOOT. It will definitely have a ton of stuff to dig into.

May I remind you that Ubisoft's flagship game The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot was shut down 2 years ago.

This title is no longer available.
It lasted only 2 years when Ubi decided such something can't be milked appreciated on PC but elsewhere.

Mighty quest on mobile
So, they shut down the PC game but they are currently developping a mobile version of the game which is playable right now and looks really bad. What the hell?
No, you didn't see me complaining, it was one of better Ubi's decisions. IMO.

Anyway, I don't expect them selling many copies of #3 DLC. But who knows. Maybe they manage to make something better than Bethesda's radiant "quests".

Not that interested in randomly generated dungeons and Varnhold is quite meh for me. But, that can be due to the fact than I am currently preparing a raid in Valley of the Dead.
However, the 1 is really cool and I have hopes for the future for this game. It has a huge potential on top of what it has already delivered which is massive and immensely fun.
Yeah, it had a patchy start but I did not meet any bug I could notice since the 1.1. Granted, I have only 89 hours in it which is not a lot compared to many here. :|

Waiting for game of thrones year edition to play so this just adds more to it!

I like the first two. Third one is a pass.

I wonder how will the consequences of the second one affect the campaign… Can those be exported into an ongoing campaign or will they require new playthrough?

You can get the companion any time after Chapter 2 starts, but if you finish Chapter 5 you can't get her in that playthrough. Hence why I'm waiting for Dec. 6 because I'm in Chapter 5. :) Not sure about Varnhold.

Why are you guys against the dungeon? It will have a unique boss and tons of levels to explore, likely with a bunch of new weapons, items, challenging encounters, etc.. The game is already massive and adding a crazy dungeon is so exciting to me, but I think procedural generation scares people away. I'm sure it will be done well and not some weird randomization. You probably won't even be able to tell it was proc gen because Owlcat is a great developer.

Don't know about the others but for me if there is no story tied to it I have no interest in it.

Well there's a unique boss there, so there must be *some* story to it. I don't think it's just completely a dungeon and nothing else, you can probably talk to some peeps on the way down to learn why it's there and what it's about, etc.. And more weapon, armor and item choices come with it, plus the bestiary will be used more - I think it's going to be a blast. :)

Surprised to see all the disappointment. If you total these together it equals a nice chunky expansion - new character/race/companion + new chapter-length campaign + endless dungeon. To me, and this is not being a biased Owlcat fanboi either, it's near perfect how they handled it. #3 sounds especially exciting because I'm sure they'll dip into the bestiary a lot more for wild and exotic creatures, plus we'll be finding a ton of new loot and have challenging encounters to boot. #2 is a new campaign that will flesh out the story more, which is cool, and I'm very excited about the new companion, so much so that I'm putting the game down until the 6th to get her! :)

Release state of the game was unacceptable, first part of the game is great if very buggy, then end game is a complete disaster. So people feelings toward that game are mixed. The great part come from the pen and paper books, thats what people really like in this game olwcat has not much to do with it. The last part they made it themselves and its horrifying.
So no reasons to be too excited at the season pass.

I like companions and their story as well - which is Owlcats work. Music, graphics, UI etc too. So you can't say Owlcat don't deserve credit.

Couchpotato December 1st, 2018 06:07

Pathfinder Kingmaker a game that doesn't deserve the praise and GOTY awards.:p

Can't wait to play Cyberpunk 2077 as that game gets my fanboy mechanisms in full gear going. So just a fair Waring it will be my turn to a defend a game from heretics.

purpleblob December 1st, 2018 06:46

Kingmaker isn't just GOTY, it's one of the best cRPG ever ;)

Just ask a few older members how I used to defend BioWare games.

Nothing to get ready about, Couch :) We can always agree to disagree. In saying that, I think you will eventually warm up to Kingmaker :)

I haven't really been following Cyberpunk - the setting doesn't interest me, and unfortunately, TW3 failed to captivate me. In saying that, I'm not going to pre-judge, just not hyped like you are :P

Talk about comparing apples and oranges. I don't see what one has to do with the other.

I agree, it is pointless to compare a real rpg with interactive movie with some shooting parts :D

Oh look this was back in 2016.

By June 2015, over 690,000 players had activated the game through GOG Galaxy. The game sold over six million copies in the next six weeks, and the studio made a profit of $63.3 million in the first half of 2015. In March 2016, CD Projekt Red reported that the game had shipped nearly 10 million copies worldwide.

Since the release of the first instalment in The Witcher trilogy CD PROJEKT has sold over 25 million copies of The Witcher games.
Probably more now. How much has this game sold? Not as much.;)

I expect Cyberpunk 2077 to sell as much if not better.

you December 1st, 2018 13:35

I haven't played this game so I won't comment on how it compares per sey to witcher 1 in quality but from what I'm reading witcher 1 was a far better game than this game on release. You ask how it has sold but how well did it deserve to sell given its condition.

Now having said the above it isn't really fair to compare a 1st person rpg to a party based rpg but so in that sense perhaps witcher series was er doomed to sell better but then again maybe they deserved to sell better given the production value….

I except Cyberpunk 2077 to sell as much if not better.

Not when it gets a free pass while being a buggy & technical mess.

Also hate Elitists like Archangel above.

Nothing wrong with cutscenes in an RPG.:p

Oh wait another burn Witcher III actually had expansions the DLC was free.
