The things we do for love. Throughout the years, video games have shown us that love can turn a hag's heart half-circle, damn an innocent girl whose heart clung to the hope that another loved her when he did not, make a stern Jedi warrior abandon her teachings and embrace the dark side and even drive a hitman with a heart of gold to sign a pact with evil to avenge his loved one. Don't get me started on real-world stories. The latest in line to join the list of lovestruck madcaps is Igor, the hero in The Farm 51's upcoming survival horror, Chernobylite. What would you call poor Igor who travels to one of the most irradiated places on Earth in the faintest hope to find his long-lost girlfriend? Insane? Maybe. Dedicated? Yes. Lovestruck and melancholic, refusing to move on? Definitely.

More information.

Hoping that this will be the game that washes off some of the past dirt from The Farm 51

They released WW3 on steam in EA and then abandoned the game.

I'd stay away from anything from them until they deliver a finished product. So sick of kickstarter scams.

Hoping this is the stalker game I always wanted without the eurotrash jank. What is it with Russian (?electronic entertainment) culture that the word "stalker" became a protagonists title anway?

Sorry for late reply. If you are still interested.

Stalker was a name of soviet movie in the 70s based on an earlier novel. They specifically took the english word Stalker for the name so it sounds alien to russian language audience.

Movie is about expedition to a Zone (location with alien artifacts). may be they thought exploring and stalking are synonymous in English. In any case it had no current nefarious context in the movie.

The movie had a tremendous impact on Russian Sci-Fi community and was an inspiration for a later Stalker game franchise.

And the game caused a flood of Sci-Fi books of varied quality in Stalker universe.

Another offshoot of this wave was Metro franchise. While not connected to Stalker universe, it is from the same apocalyptic time frame in Russian Sci-Fi.

Right now they are into changing the past Sci-Fi. Make Russia great again and all that jazz.
