Fire Falls help needed
 

Once you get that Cube key, after messing around with those column keys, and open that cube door you fight one fire elemental and on the bottom floor of the room there is a key column. You can only press it once unlike the others until you walk away from it and it sinks into the ground and pops back up when you approach it again. What does it do and how do you make it work?
